Raw Power magazine 1978 -- review of News of the World on p.54. Interesting that it's on the same page as a review of the Sex Pistols' Never Mind the Bollocks.

File is too big to upload here but this link works: http://www.scott-stephens.com/pdf/Raw_Power_5_1978.pdf

I tried to put myself in the mindset of the reviewer, listening to that album for the first time, and i dont think he would be too far off the mark, dont get me wrong,i love that album,(apart from 'Sleeping on the Sidewalk'),but when i bought it,i probably felt the same,it is a modge podge with no real direction!

Yeah I agree, spot on review. Very very American in viewpoint. Love the industry lingo too.. you can imagine Electra concerned by the 'dead' tracks. FM RADIO WON'T PLAY IT GUYS!!

More than vaguely - they had no idea how correctly they picked Groucho as the Marx brother for Freddie, as he'd have the moustache within a couple years.
