Contrary to what I often hear from other Queen fans I really like those Rio concerts, especially the first one. Freddie is truly on fire during that first Rio gig and without a doubt this is one of his better shows from the 1984-1986 era. He totally goes for it, this is obvious when listening to songs like tear it up or Somebody to love. I also like the fact he runs around like mad in the video :-)
His vocals in "Break free" are better than any other filmed version of the song, and sung with such ease. Actually, these 2 concerts show in how good and how "bad" shape his voice could be! lucky for us he was always a great musician with great ways to cope with his less good vocal shape.
