So ... if Freddie was alive, today celebrated 70 years. Although he is no longer with us for nearly 25 years, but he still lives in our hearts, thoughts and music :)
Happy Birthday Freddie Mercury!
Cheers!

Don't see any doodle from Google today, but here's something from Russian search service...

Freddie Mercury: Asteroid named after late Queen star to mark 70th birthday
Maybe I'm becoming too cynical, but I'm starting to find those Freddie impersonators really cheesy. Kind of like the Elvis impersonators. They're impersonating an image of a man which was very much a creation of the 1980s, and which far from encompasses all that Freddie was. Specifically, they're impersonating Freddie's most "commercial" mid-1980s moments, replete with the "less worthy" Queen songs which came with it. It's an unevolved image meant to cater for the masses craving pseudo-nostalgic entertainment. Freddie himself underwent many changes to his appearance throughout the years, yet these impersonations seem to mostly be stuck with imitating his gay-clone look.
I guess it's all good fun for those involved, but I still think it's slightly tasteless. Maybe I'm just being negative, but I feel that people could do a better job of giving tribute to a great artist than just being ultra-predictable.

Absolutely agree with Costas remarks. The immortalised version of Freddie is definitely the Wembley 86 gear and tache. I even see guys on stag nights about town wearing this as fancy dress.
