This sounds quite similar to this.

Maybe loads of you knew before, but I didn't. Interesting indeed.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

The Crazy tour featured Chopin as part of the lead up to the shows beginning.

An influence I'm sure.

For all the times I've actually played that etude, I never once got the connection. Thanks for that Sebastian.

Freddie was certainly as influenced by his classical heroes as much as he was any popular singer.

Me too but... Sebastian is right. It sound similar because as someone wrote on Youtube in comments BR from 5.09 sound similar to Chopin's Etude because in that part we have C minor and G minor chords. In the main theme of Chopin's Etude we have E major and B major chords. I'm writing this because it's the same harmony only in different key!

Queen - C minor > G minor it is the dominant
Chopin - E major > B major it is the dominant

The dominant is the fifth scale degree in other words
when the key is C minor we have C, d , e flat , f , G , a flat , b , c.

When the key is E major we have E , f sharp , g sharp , a , B , c sharp , d sharp , e.

So now you can see that the distance from C to G is the same as the distance from E to B.

That's why it sounds similar.

Thanks Musicland Munich for your help!

The easiest way to show all of that is on a piano keyboard I think.

I didn't quite hear it, but I'm not gonna lie - I do not know much about classical music, even though my tastes do extend beyond Queen and rock in general. Perhaps you're a fan of Chopin, Sebastian? Perhaps some other classical pieces could resemble the sound of BoRhap? Although the latter certainly has the "delicate" factor, which seems to be so central to Chopin's works. Anyway, interesting.

What I meant is that the notes in question, and the arpeggio, are exactly the same, though in a different key.
