I listened to Capital all the time back in the day, so I am VERY surprised I managed to miss a broadcast announcement. You can see one of their vans in the Hyde Park clip from film roll 3 below.

My mother was born 3 years after that concert. You can imagine how excited I was of watching the show.[/QUOTE]

How old that makes you? 14?

JThe Queen concert was NOT broadcasted on Capital Radio.

Though a live radio program with Kenny Everett was broadcasted from Hyde Park. And from this radio show you can find the transcription disc.

So Hyde Park was never broadcasted.

I really wonder whether they have got great, releasable audio for this show... I'd really like to hear it in its entirety in professional audio quality. It's not Queen's best show for sure, but it still has its moment that I'd like to enjoy in better quality :-)

There is no Capitol Radio, only Capital Radio.
It also has no connection with the BBC.

"Further to my earlier message about Planet Rock (222.06 on DAB Digital Radio) broadcasting live from Hyde Park in July I have just heard the following on Nicky Hornes show.

We will be broadcasting all day from back stage at Hyde Park, and at about 9 o'clock, whilst the guys are on stage, we will be broadcasting the original Hyde Park gig from the mid '70's in its entirety. This is not a shoddy bootleg, the band have made available to us the original master tapes of the concert, and we can assure you that they are far better than anything you may already have heard."

The above was the official statement. It never happened...

You're right. It didn't.
What did happen was a crappy show filled with broadcasts of the official recordings from other shows in the tour you could buy from QOL.
