Re the WARC / WWRY double A side thing.

I remember at the time that WATC was No.1 in France "only to be replaced in the top spot by WWRY". I have no idea where I read or heard that. Does this suggest that it was a double A in France.

I've found this from http://www.infodisc.fr/Tubes_Artiste_Choisi.php but I don't understand French so maybe someone can shed some light on the headings Mp, Nb and Nb Sem?

You read it on Queenlive, I guess. I think I'm the source of the info on Queenlive (the scan of the News of The World LP on Queenlive is mine too). I read it on an old French book "Queen L'Opéra Rock" by Stan Cuesta and probably on another book I can't remember.
The WWRY/WATC was most likely a double A side release in France. There are three different versions of the single: one is the same as the other countries with the head of the robot and the label is a crest label. Two have "We Will Rock You" added on the front sleeve and there are two labels: one is the common crest one and another is very unique green (éditions Francis Day, I tried to find some info about it but no luck).

Having looked at the website and with my limited knowledge of French it seems to be Highest Position (Maximum position) Number of weeks at number one and total weeks on chart (Numero des Semaines).
