I'm not for a moment defending him as the truth will out as they say, but that was the Hollywood reporter... not the most shall we say legit source of accurate info, there are also a number of internet sources showing very little actual evidence other than heresay... just sayin....

I really think this film shouldn't be made. When I first heard in 2010 it was being made I just thought it was a naff idea. Freddie said "don't make me boring".... well, they're doing a pretty good job at making Freddie boring.
The best way to honour Freddie would be to release some of the milestone concerts in their entirety, throw in some unreleased gems, or even some work in progress (all the stuff on YouTube that could go into an official anthology in its current state), or just actually stop releasing stuff and allow the legacy to take care of itself.

Examples? :)

Can't really be bothered with this film anymore since anyone with a bit of a name dropped out, but let me just note it seems rather ironic they seem to be at precisely the same stage of making it as they always were, i.e. having initial talks between them, Jim Beach and whichever director / actor still expresses interest in the film. Eh... good luck.

Here is the link to the Jan 12, 2017 Entertainment Tonight segment about the Freddie Mercury biopic
Thanks for the link - when you see Rami Malik talking you can already see a really great and natural resemblance to Freddie....to get that AND someone with the proven acting skills is great; I hope the script and story are as good!

Sacha Baron Cohen would have been perfect. I agree that Brian and Roger need to step back, but we know that won't happen...
