I was quite shocked when I heard THAT song a few days ago at a local breakfast restaurant, I asked the owner about his "play" list and he stated it was Spotify.

This is the first time I heard THAT song outside of my home or car, which is not surprising as I live in 'Merikah.

THAT song is a BAD song and I am sorry I brought it up.

Lets never mention it again.

It gets regular play on UK radio this time of year. Not their finest moment considering such a successful year with The Works and the 4 singles all going Top 10. I think it was rushed as for some reason 1984 seemed to be the year everyone was bringing out a Xmas song.

THAT song is fine. The first time I heard IT was on the radio in my homeland Brazil back in January 1985 around Rock in Rio time.

I think THAT song is better than 90 per cent of all Xmas songs.

Hope you all enjoy THAT time of the year!

Cheers,

All 20 songs on the What's It Gonna Be Santa CD (by Chicago) are better than THAT song.

It's not too bad man! . I give it a spin every year. But they did miss the opportunity to do a quality Christmas song that would be up there with the best of them.

I don't understand why so many dislikes "TGIC". In Norway it is played a lot on the radio, and it certainly gives me that special feeling whenever I hear it. The vocals are excellent, and I do in fact like the simple melody lines for the verses.
Basically blind em and deaf em in the first 10 minutes, and while they are recovering from that put in the less good songs

Oh please. I have a friend that loves Chicago. They can play, but their songs are all over the place. To me an extremely boring band.

Dunno why there's so much hate. I think the song is great!
This place used to be great, but now it is an absolute joke. For serious Queen discussion, please visit http://www.queenforum.net

It has a unique place in the Queen catalogue certainly. I enjoy hearing it, but this has been the first year I've accidently had it popping up randomly on shuffle throughout the year so I'm kind of conditioned now to quickly skip it and roll my eyes. Ask me again next year :)

I bought the 12" maxi single a few years ago. Not so much for the song but for the b-side which features 2 extended versions. Man On The Prowl which later became available on the 12" Collection CD inside the Box Of Tricks. The second extended version is more interesting. Keep Passing The Open Windows. To my knowledge it is only available on this Thank God It's Christmas 12 inch maxi single.

The Hollywood Records remix is slightly better and somehow warmer, or am I mistaken here. Here in Holland, TGIC was in the top 10, out of 50, voted by Sky Radio listeners, not bad.

That song is on a couple of our holiday discs. But, that song is always followed by 'A Winter's Tale'. So, whether that song is good or not, it serves its now Pavlovian purpose.

'I Dream of Christmas' would have been better, but that song isn't that bad. Not great, not bad, that song is.
