John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

Thank you, Sebastion. That photo brings back a lot of memories from the NOTW era.

Great song, these type of things is what Queen should have done more of. Going from It's late to Melancholy Blues is the perfect example of what Made Queen Special, not many bands could pull that off. So many different styles from one band. Just think a few years later they would record Hot Space. Talk about a fall from grace.

Great review! You could also add that the miracle 12 Inch single has the live version from Houston concert.

It's not my review. Somebody else wrote it. I just found the link and thought it was interesting, especially because it's not one of the most obvious choices.

I don't like the BBC version. The guitar is completely imposing and unnecessary and Freddie's voice sounds shot.

I personally think Brian played well on it, but it's not even top 50 (perhaps not even top 100) of his performances throughout his career.

I'm not crazy about the BBC version. The studio version is perfect, though in the early days I overlooked it. I was more about hard rock then. Queen opened my ears to so many different styles of music. I'll probably still only like hard rock and Metal if it wasn't for them.

The fact it's well-written, it offers a clear POV and it's about a relatively obscure album number rather than a mega-popular hit. Will it cure cancer and eradicate poverty? No. But it can contribute to having five or ten minutes of enjoyable reading. That's why I find it interesting.

For me it's probably top 50. Nice to hear him try something outside of the pentatonic/major scales. I much prefer it over for example the Keep Yourself Alive solo, or the one in the Prophet's Song. Those are wasted opportunities in my book.
