Anyone hear this band? They get a lot of Queen comparisons, but I don't really hear it myself. The singer was obviously Influenced by Mercury and looks like him for sure. He would be the perfect guy to play Mercury in a movie. I Just don't hear Queen in the music, no vocal harmonies like Queen did.

I have his debut album and is nice. Is not so rocker than Queen at all, but is true that the singer Luke Spiller have a great voice. He did an album with my other hero, Mike Oldfield, a couple of years ago. Thanks to that I know about his band:

The singer's similarities to 70s Mercury are uncanny.
hmm. while he can't exactly fake his features, his demeanor looks more deliberate than uncanny (copying Mercury)
only difference being that this guy is clearly going bald. Mercury 's hair receded and he had a small measure of Friar Tuck-ism, (*the proper medical term) but never wound up full on bald.
I'll give them a whirl at work. nice topic

Yea I just gave them a quick listen. I'll check out more of their music and see If I hear anymore Queen Influences. Watching the videos it's obvious the singer not only looks like 70's Mercury, but also acts like him. His vocal style I'm not sure yet, but does get Mercury comparisons from people. Just seen an interview with him saying he was going for the role of Freddie but lost it somehow. That's a shame, he would of been perfect.
It's just feels like this band was created to copy Queen just saying.

I don't hear the resemblance either - I think people who do might be listening with their eyes. A lot of people do...
Great band though, the singer really owns the material and they had a couple EPs before the latest full album. They appeared on morning TV in Chicago I think twice last year. Can't wait to see how their sound develops.
I checked out more stuff from this band, pretty good music. Doesn't really sound like Queen. Definitely not a Queen ripoff, but I can hear a Mercury Influence in his Voice. Not many bands could get the Queen sound anyway, The Darkness did it, but they were never that good. Muse did it at times, but Those Vocal and Guitar Arrangements from Queen are hard to copy. Hopefully the struts singer gets the role if this movie is ever made! Think I'll email Brian about that.
He does seem to be going for the Mercury thing (especially the way he rolls his rrrrrs), but one of the comments on the video for Could Have Been Me actually hit the nail on the head. He looks most like the love child of Joan Jett and Tim Curry!
Would be quite good as Freddie in the movie (which I hope never gets made!)

well it seems that they have a queen cover:
Let me know when they've found a way to invent a BM-RD copy
As with last time this band's equine singer was discussed here, a bit of sick comes in my mouth everytime I see the thread bumped.
Personally i thought that was a brilliant cover, many thanks for the upload

Eric Nally from Foxy Shazam is another singer who gets the same comparison to Freddie Mercury, got to say there album The Church of Rock and Roll is a great album worth a listen.

Thanks - I almost stopped before the 40 second mark, which would have been a mistake..
They sound like they'd be great fun to see live. Good voice on the singer, nice crunchy rock sound.
