The YouTube version of this 9 minute promo piece is a crappy encoding, but I recently found a VHS tape of it at a record show for $2. Is anyone interested in a better copy? If so, then I can have it digitized.
I never forgot about this ! In fact - I thought I had lost the VHS tape, but I'd actually already dropped it off to a place to have it transferred to DVD (hello, senility!), and they forgot to call me back until a couple weeks ago. I finally picked it up today, and the quality is certainly better than the one on YouTube.
The entire operation cost me a whopping $3. Feel free to send the payment in installments.

Watching this footage really hammered something home...
Sure, we've seen most of these clips countless times. But I remember watching these documentaries 20 years ago and wishing I could see all the uncut footage. And now literally every piece of this footage is out there, either on official releases or on the bootleg market (all of which has made it to this website). When I saw my first Queen documentary the only available Earls Court footage was in black and white, and the audio was awful. I have since gone through no less than a half dozen copies to the wonderful colour version we have now.
It literally is insane that people to continue to complain about the so-called lack of official and unofficial Queen material. There is such a bounty, and so many of us have lost sight of it. We have excellent copies of the Rainbow, Hammersmith, Hyde Park, Earls Court, Houston, Munich, Buenos Aires, and Milton Keynes footage. And so many others. And hundreds of great audience tapes. And hours of studio outtakes. And it's all a mouse click away.
Take a moment and reflect - we are lucky and have done well.

Wow, when you put it like that, it really is amazing how much stuff is leaked. However, since we now know what each mono soundboard recording would likely sound like, it's quite infuriating that they won't release any :(

But even if they release every mono soundboard, then people will complain that they haven't released every studio outtake.
And then when every studio outtake comes out, people will accuse them of holding even more of it back.
It's people's inherent nature to complain and want more. I was just trying to provide a moment of reflection - it is much needed here.

Sentiments I say everytime we have a backlash on new archive releases. Looking forward to looking at this and pretending it's '91 again.
