The live production industry like everything has trends and fashions that most designers follow.

Three big tours that are out at the moment are Metallica, Roger Waters and U2. All are using next to no set, flat open staging huge video walls and relatively minimal lighting.

Both U2 and Metallica are using tower bridges from which the show, video, sound and lighting is flown for their outdoor shows with no roof, Waters is using a more conventional truss flying system in doors, though the overall look of a wide screen is similar.

Both Brian And Roger have said this tour will visually look unlike any other Queen tour. I wonder if they have been sold a similar look by a stage designer who want to compete rather than be different.

Yeah the guitar shaped stage is certainly eye catching.

Its how they light it and use it that I'm waiting to see

Ah. He's gone mad.

Still. Reminds me of the Prince rig from 2009-13...only that one was also his name and the gigs were "in the round"

Band equipment, risers underneath.

=================

With this shape of the stage, The Red Special double neck may have a new role, though it misses the second neck.
