Jazz - a double album?

This 1978 article suggests it was a possibility at one point.

Other than the longer versions of Jealousy and Let Me Entertain You heard at fan club conventions (and the 2011 bonus track of take 1 of Dreamers Ball), we haven't heard much from these sessions - but this comment suggests there could be a lot more in the vaults.

Also - who else finds Brian's comment on Fun It amusing?

"The closest to disco we'll ever get."

Not to mention his charming euphemism for groupies.

Remember the poster here on QueenZone called Roger's Untidy Bottom who claimed that The Game was recorded as a double album and only one side was released.... It can have some truth in it but I don't see it being released knowing the QPL's policy.

If my memory serves me correctly, Freddie told in one interview that for the album The Miracle, they wrote about 30 songs.

Yep, well known fact. You have the 12 songs released in the CD version (incl. "Hang On In There" and "Chinese Torture").

Add to those the B-sides: Hijack My Heart, Stealin´ and My Life Has Been Saved. We have 15 songs now.

+ Too Much Love Will Kill You, I Guess We´re Falling Out, A New Life Is Born, Dog With A Bone and Face It Alone. 20 songs already!

What about the remaining 10 songs up to those 30 mentioned by Freddie? I´m sure most of them may be just ideas, not complete songs, and some of them were incorporated to other tracks (ie: the "Fiddly Jam" at the end of Hang On In There, or the very last section of The Miracle song, that could very well merge 2 ideas for 2 other songs (the rocker part and the "..that time will come, one day you´ll see" lines), etc etc

Can´t imagine how many like that can be in the vaults. Perfect stuff for the Anth... ermmm, the type of product every artist, from the top league players to minor bands, are releasing these days.

I wonder how songs are selected as b-side.

Bob thanks for the clip, the current Queen & AL set list also has more Jazz songs and I'm amazed at the inclusion of a full It's Late, I just hope the set stays rock based for U.K.! Fingers crossed for a possible NOTW based release this year.

A double album with this production would have been a double disaster.

Great songs, but oh boy, those f*ckin' drums! On NOTW they were perfect.

Or double the fun depending on what you like.

Interesting that Brian considers Dead on Time as a heavier version of KYA. I suppose from the perspective of a guitar player it is vaguely similar but the overall sound and impact of DoT is completely different to KYA. But maybe he was just searching for an answer and that was what came into his head at the time.
