Question looking for honest answer. What do you hardcore Queen fans think of Adam singing BR?

I learned to (really) like him. And he is getting better, of course. Compare the 2012 Adam with this one and there'll be no questions about that. Haha
edit: Very theatrical version, by the way. Liked his little additions, we can't say that he is emotionless!

In 2012 when a lot of people on here wrote him off before the first show, and one quite intelligent poster spent the first night watching the live feed ripping him apart some, including me were saying lets sit back and give him a chance. . .
I now think he does a great job. No he doesn't match Freddie's total versatility but I think he is a better front man (for Queen) than Paul Rodgers, can't wait to them later this year

2012 was a rocky start due to his high singing range and often sounded like a sheep bleeting at a high pitch and when I saw him in 2014 he sounded like he could finally his voice and just worry about putting on a show rather than blaring the highest pitched notes as possible. Over if Adam can learn for his mistakes, he gets a nice big thumb from me

I'll take the bait on this. I hear a lot of people complaining about Adam Lambert. I can agree on one level: He is no match for Freddie, his voice is pitched far too high for Queen songs, and I personally don't care for the guy as an artist. At the same time, I try to consider the economics of a "Queen+" tour: They really need a "name" singer who can pull in the crowds and do some kind of justice to the songs, or else they will be playing to half-empty halls. So I suppose Lambert fits the bill - and judging from the number of outrageously expensive tickets "Queen+" is selling, it appears like the ticket-buying public agree.

In 1991 I thought that was it... In 2005 & 2008 I enjoyed the PR shows he is another artist I admire and the QPR version of Bad Company is the best I've ever heard.
2012 unsure I went to Hammersmith and came away an old Queen fan who was very very happy. Since then I've seen Queen + Adam twice and its a proper Queen show just the same as the 10+ I saw with Freddie & John but different but I still feel those same emotions looking forward to December as I did in 1978 the first time I saw them as a raw 15 year old I'm grateful they are still doing it and to be honest don't care about those that knock it Freddie The King is dead but his legacy for me lives on Thank You Brian, Roger and Adam.
The only thing I would ask is - Come on John join the party :-)

been a queen fan since 1991. (I was 7).
I absolutely hated the idea of an american idol contestant fronting Queen. couldn't stand hearing him on the bootlegs. saw them in Mtl in 2014 specifically to watch Brian play. Completely changed my mind about him fronting the band.
He's cringeworthy but energetic. He is a showman and is a lot fun to watch. I'm sure people wrote Freddie off in his early days too.
While i'd never listen to Adam Lambert's solo material... I can't wait for July 17 when I'll be watching them again!

Before Adam was on American Idol, he was in a rock band called Citizen Vein with his friend Monte Pittman (Madonna's now guitarist). They never made it big but I really like their songs which of course I discovered after American Idol.
In two weeks a Queen cover band will play my very small town, 8€ / ticket. They won't be worse than that horrible carnival act called Queen & Adam Lambert.

They will^^ fortunately be worse than Brian May & Roger Taylor performing the music of QUEEN featuring Adam Lambert.
I've seen it and heard it with my own eyes and ears. ...and i went to a show in 2014 (5th row/side catwalk)
That one pretty much sucked... I know it sounds hard to believe. ....but it did.
Even the VOLUME was low.
The best part was the disco ball and Adam telling people in V.I.P. that they sucked. ....didn't move, didn't sing, all that entitlement business.
