Roland R-05's are the best. Shame to hear that they discontinued that :(
There seem to still be a few for sale. Sweetwater is expecting more in stock soon and lists them for $199:

The Sony PCM-M10 seems to be unavailable almost everywhere. But once in a while they pop up on Amazon for $400-800.

I wish some company would make a small portable, mostly plastic, looks more like a music player, and only takes external mics and has no internal mics. Would be easier to get past security as it gets tightened.

I'd love to know your opinion of the GoldWave software that you used for editing the audio! Why did you choose it over Audacity and/or Soundforge? Does it do frequency domain editing? Also can it do dynamic compression?

Thanks!

Thanks for this. The recording is very good. It does make the concert seem to be very worth attending.

Not downloading but good to see someone with quite decent mics taped and shared here.

Although AL fans DO seem to stream and upload a lot, virtually none of them uses decent equipment.

(see you have an R-05. Definitely my to go recorder. Love it! Treasure it... Roland discontinued it)

Thanks for taping and sharing!
Actually, at least 2 of us do. Most of my recordings are done with Church CA-11 cardioid mics, Church ugly battery box, and Sony PCM-M10 recorder, although sometimes I use CA-11 omni mics and I have several other recorders. I record in 24-bit, 96 KHz WAV. And if there are a few crazy loud spikes I can use dynamic compression in Sony Soundforge Pro. That is what is holding up my Phoenix recording as I need to find time after a work deadline to fix a couple of loud Mic squeals.

Most unfortunately, the Sony PCM-M10 has also been discontinued :( It and the Roland seemed to be the go to choices of concert tapers. I bought the new Sony ICD-SX2000, which is sort of, but not really, a replacement for the PCM-M10. Using it, I made a 2nd recording of Hollywood night 2 using the internal mics. When I have time, I will compare it to my PCM-M10 recording.

There is another Adam fan who uses Sound Professionals in-ear binaural mics, battery box, and 1 of several recorders.

She is going to 2 NA QAL concerts. I am going to 8 NA & 8 UK concerts. So 18 high quality concert recordings coming from Adam fams.

But yes, most of the Adam fans I know are not tech savvy enough to do these types of high quality recordings. But they do a really good job of live streaming and videoing and taking photos!!! I gave up on trying to do videos & photos because so many others were doing it better than me, and I wanted to focus on getting good audio.

P.S. I'd love to talk technical details of audio recording and processing if anyone is intetested!
Good to hear!
18 shows. That's a lot! Bet she's having the time of her life! I did a couple of Queen & Paul Rodgers shows back in 2005 and it sure feels great to see a band you like multiple times in a row.

Does the Sony ICD-SX2000 take line-in ? Or only mic-in?

Check taperssection.com for all concert recording info you need.

I'm simply going to say, DancyGeorgia, thank God for you Adam Fans.
If it wasn't for you guys there would be very few live recordings of ANY of these tours out there.

Wish I had the time to edit some multicams together of Youtube footage like someone else was doing a couple of years ago.
There's some great quality video footage out there!

Thank you kindly. Maybe we should enjoy the NOTW tracks while we still can before they disappear off the set list.

It is very easy.

On the top right hand corner, click the green button with the down arrow sign.

The dialogue box will pop up to ask whether you want to do bulk download.

Answer "yes" and the folder will be downloaded in zip format.
