Anyway, silver salmon is an early queen song, even on queenvault it says that it was composed by Tim Staffel
Why "even"...? Queenvault has tons of incorrect info....
I do my best to be accurate... and errors do get through. Concerning Silver Salmon... the song has been credited to Staffell. The recording that we all have does seem to be from the News Of The World era. As many have pointed out, the drum sound does lend credence to that. So, that would be an error on my site, that particular take needs to be moved to the NOTW page.

So, the question becomes, was Silver Salmon recorded for other albums? Why wasn't it included on NOTW? If there was a serious go at the song for NOTW, I imagine work on it was discontinued once Sheer Heart Attack was included. I don't think the band would want two "old" songs on their new album. Just a theory.
Queen used to play old songs in the studio as warm up. And why not record them just for fun? Still Silver Salmon could have been a candidate to be included in NOTW, why not?... no one would have known that it was an old song at that time, right?

Hopefully it will finally be released at last on forthcoming AE.

I think it's pretty obvious from this compilation why "Silver Salmon" hasn't been used on NOTW LP, or even on the recent 2 CD edition - it's not much of a song. Rather some rough prototype of a song which was tried but not developed into a proper song. Now, "Mad The Swine" does sound like a song, and unmistakably a Queen one at that. IMO that's why we were given "Mad The Swine" long ago, and "Silver Salmon" remains the tantalizing rarity - they just don't think much of its worth.

Thank you AudioSynthesis, your compilation sounds enjoyable. Though it'd make every sense to present it in FLAC - MP3s are so "passe" by now.

A lot of the stuff out there is MP3 sourced. What's the point? Converting to FLAC doesn't enhance anything.

Official CDs >>> MP3 "splitted into 45 minute blocks, like an LP's run time. I may post two versions, a CD version and an LP version so that you can choose between the two options."

What's this, Queen Comedy Club?

^ Don't you ever get tired of spewing shit?

I mean, you surely have something better to do with those hours of your life that you spend in a website that makes you rage that way. You need help.

Learn to play an instrument (or another if you play any), read a new book, breathe fresh air out of your house. Enjoy the winter (or summer, depending on which place you are), do something productive with your life, YOUR LIFE, and get outta here.
Don't forget my collection of demos and outtakes: http://goo.gl/uQARhn PM me if you want any [leaked] multitrack. Ya se ven los tigres en la lluvia.

RE Silver Salmon not appearing on the 2 disc version because it's a sketch of a song:

There were quite a lot of demos and prototypes on the 2 disc set, some in worse shape than Silver Salmon. Not arguing, just pointing out.

I'm planning on making a Live Collection once this set is completed, and I'll definitely include Hangman. This set it going to strictly remain a collection of studio recordings.

@ BETA: Arseyside already knows how to play an instrument - he's used to strumming his dick all day.

@Madmega - the site hasn't been running properly of late. I can find the thread but can't "quote" anyone in replies or edit any of my posts. The first post is not missing, it's there, with DL links. Also, the OP has been reset to "newbie" with 0 posts....

Wow. How long did it take you to think of that?

If you want my comeback, you'll have to scrape it off your mum's teeth.
