I don't want to cause an argument here or offend anyone

I loved Queen. I didn't know Freddie was gay; that is the simple truth - I was a child/teenager who thought he was simply a flamboyant charismatic frontman for my favourite band

I first realised that he was gay when the announcement was made in November 1991; then his passing the next day- I was devastated. But my feelings about Queen and Freddie had changed not one jot; still loved them, and still do

My point here is Adam

I saw the band with Adam on the last tour; I thought he did a fantastic job both vocally and in his charismatic, funny and sometimes poignant delivery

Am I the only one who is disappointed that someone who made such a heartfelt speech a few weeks ago about gay rights is now presenting Queen by riding a pink tricycle festooned with flowers.

I know it's only a small part of the show but, think about it, if Queen had found a straight man who had all of Adam's qualities to front them then chose to present himself in that manner every gay man in the world would be rightly offended

And before I get rounded on by a pack of wolves here, I do have a sense of humour and I know that Adam can do as he bloody well pleases

Just a thought...

Everyone has his own point of view.
It is completely irrelevant whether singer is gay or no.
For me music is most important.

Never saw the pink tricycle.

It's obviously a joke. But wasn't part of the show i attended.

I can understand your concern. But for me one part is onstage the other part may just be him.

I'm not even aware of this speech.

Will have to look it up

There are many straight men that act camp or have camp props...and there are many Camp Men who use straight props...does that make sense? I think you are reading too much into it .... its a bit of Fun and Theatrical

Queen as a band have always been theatrical and camp, that was how Freddie saw the band and they followed many gay themed avenues. Hopefully no-one was offended then and certainly not now. Why would anyone get offended by Adam riding a pink bicycle?

And to quote Adam, "It ain't that deep." Bad grammar used intentionally to emphasize point.

Freddie could ride a pink tricycle and it would've been hilarious. Freddie was just out there - and a naturally funny guy, and had charisma in spades.

I don't find Lambert funny, but even if you think he is, it's not in the same way Freddie was. Freddie was absurd at times, he could be naughty and cheeky, and he wasn't pretending either. It's who he really was - and that was a big part of his charm.
What you've got instead now is a guy screaming "Look how gay I am". And it's like.... well, so what?
Boy George already did that 35 years ago, when it was daring.
The other aspect, is that Freddie had sex appeal, he could get away with almost anything, whereas when I look at Lambert on stage, I just find him cringe-worthy.

That said, Lambert seems a nice guy.

Day dop: agree completely.

Freddie was just himself. Loads of natural charisma and ability and not a scripted, contrived act. It didn't matter what his sexuality was as it shouldn't for any artist...it was just him...and he was absolutely fantastic whether he was rocking it, being cheeky, naughty, rude, dramatic, whatever

Adam has some natural ability and some charm at interacting with the audience..but then goes all out with this contrived act of look how gay I am as if he is trying to overshadow the music and make it about that. The shame for him is that people may remember him as merely a gay singer.

Freddie on the other hand should be remembered as perhaps the greatest most charismatic frontman, amazing genius composer and vocalist..and if they remember whether he was straight, bi or gay, who cares

I suspect Lambert will mostly be remembered for (in order of being the most remembered)...

1) Filling in as a make do singer of Queen+ for a few years before May and Tayor retire.
2) Being a runner up on American Idol
3) Releasing mediocre albums
