Queen and Bowie at Live Aid, so why no Under Pressure duet?

Bowie & Queen both performed at Live Aid, but separately. Queen came on at 6:41pm and Bowie immediately after them at 7:23pm. Why then didn't they take the opportunity to sing Under Pressure together? Egos?

Egos - maybe. But it's probably more because Bowie didn't really like the song at the time. He didn't start playing it live himself until the mid 90s.

didn't know that. agreed with Wizard... and I'm thinking Bob Geldof of whoever was responsible for scheduling arranged for them to play in that order to allow for that possibility.

They also probably didn't have time to rehearse it together enough to satisfy all of them...

I've been asking this question for years. Finally put it to Crystal and he said Bowie never had any interest in promoting the song and so probably didn't want to perform it live.....until much later. It would've been awesome and a damn sight better than that awful Dancing In The Streets Biwie did with Jagger.

I suspect that is bang on, however both Freddie and Bowie were not exactly shrinking violets and I also suspect prior to the event their egos didn't want to share a stage, it would have meant either one of other joining the band on stage and probably both Freddie and Bowie wanted the 20 min slot to be focused purely on them...

Not true. Bowie dropped a song to allow them to show the harrowing video featuring The Cars 'Drive'.

Bowie was focussed on trying to sort a live transatlantic duet with Jagger (which was the plan until satellite delays made it impossible), so wouldn't have had time to rehearse with Queen.
