Why do they start with News of the World, I think they should began with the boxes 4 years ago with Queen. [/QUOTE]

I’m asking same question all over the years
I've got the power to love to live I can't say it ain't right

It really looks like this is going to be a fantastic release! Unheard vocals and guitars? Bring them on!!!

Cheers,

Bingo.

Maybe that sparked something in Brian, by hearing an album he loves being given that treatment, and maybe now he realizes that this is how a ton of people feel about his music.

Considering how Sgt. Pepper's shot up the charts again, the wealth of outtakes they had on offer. This could be the wake up call he needed. Here's hoping QPL themselves got the same wake up call as Brian. Surely people would like to hear WWRY and WATC in its earlier stages, and perhaps fingers crossed they'd add some recordings of the WATC video shoot/secret concert too?

I'm still cautiously optimistic about it. I'm sure it will be pretty good but with the varying levels of expectations from different people, a sizeable amount of the fandom will likely be disappointed or underwhelmed. Keeping expectations in check.

One thing I haven't liked about Queen handling their catalog is the lack of consistency and "shiny penny" syndrom. They rarely get anything right the first time and they fail to follow up.

GVH1 - Cropped 16:9 video, unimpressive extras... GVH2 - much better extras, no cropped videos, etc. They obviously learnt from their mistakes but GVH1 is still underwhelming. And 14 years later, I'm still waiting for GVH3.
The first edition of ANATO DVDA supposedly sucked. This one was actually fixed (rare!). Then we got The Game, also pretty decent and when everybody was looking forward to ADATR, NOTW, et al, Mike Stone passes away and then Brian & Roger seemed to lose interest. The DVDA format not being hugely successful also didn't help.
Rainbow was PERFECT in every possible way. They replicated the format for Hammersmith in a slightly watered down, less impressive fashion. Then they stopped, no Hyde Park (for reasons well documented, I know) and we won't get a 1977 live box. Here's to hoping that they find it in their hearts to do something similar with Hammy 79. If the "luxury live box fad" has passed by then, they won't do it.
I'm surprised we even got Deep Cuts 2 and 3; or boxes 3 & 4 of the Singles collection after the first couple were received with mixed reviews.

And the less said about the ill-conceived Top 100 Bootlegs "project", the better.

Hi all havent posted on here for ages just spoke to a friend attending the freddie party in Switzerland and he's just watched the documentary and said that its brilliant he hasnt gone into any detail but said there's interviews and loads of houston footage on there.

Of course. Useless snippets of Houston live footage between the interviews and other footage, making the actual interesting documentary bits even shorter. Should have seen that coming.

According to the Freddie party program from Queenonline the documentary is an hour long followed by a Q&A. I hoped it would be longer because there was so much stuff filmed. Maybe the docu in the boxset will be extended. Fingers crossed.

An hour long?
Gee. That's a MASSIVE disappointment.

Well, so long as they incude full interviews as extras, it won't be a complete loss.

Why not Just release a proper Anthology? Every album gets the same treatment as NOTW is gonna get. I don't get it. A remastered verson of each album, then a 2nd disc of Rarities. It would cost an arm and a leg, but at least we'll get everything we want in our lifetime. Saying all that, I'm hoping this box will be worth buying. The last Release i bought was Rainbow, which I loved..... I guess the 3 most popular Records they did in America are NOTW, The Game, and Opera. They already did the Opera Delux, which was disapointing for such a great album. No rarities or anything. After NOTW, it would be The Game that gets the special treament. NOTW was a really good Record, aged well. Hopefully they do it Justice.

Well if an hour long documentary will be released official than yes it's dissapointed but need to see from other side. Part from this documentary we've seen in other documentaries. What sense to watch it once again. Better to show what we have not seen

Besides the fact of the lenght of this documentary I think we will see the official announcment short after that screening on the FM birthday party. Probably next week...

The 2nd disc will probably be the vocals redone by Adam Lambert.

Oh goddes no. Only not Lambert
