Always got the idea John and Brian didn't get along. Dunno why...just a feeling. :D
Perhaps not, but there was mutual respect at least, I'd think. Brian always used the Deaky amp in studio, and has said he finds Best Friend a beautiful song. And there's little doubt that John admires Brian's writing and guitar playing - he chose to join the band at a point in time where those two things were huge factors in their sound.

Let's hope that respect, at least in the public sphere, can remain intact. I doubt there'll be any overt nastiness, but the aforementioned omissions set a nasty precedent in their own way.

Good thing facts don't lie, and the fact is John got the band to number 1 in America in 1980 - Bites the Dust is an achievement that thankfully won't be forgotten soon.

I'd also argue, at his best, he's a more sophisticated writer than Roger.

I agree with that

He didn't right many clunkers at all. My least favorite would probably be If You Can't Beat Them, and even that one wasn't too bad at all.

Very disappointing and immature if true.

Brian and Roger are gregarious people, but they (and Queen fans) should be able to understand that it's perfectly normal for some people, especially 70 year olds, to prefer to keep to close family and friends. John was never close friends with his bandmates.
Incorrect. He was very close to Freddie. He's wasn't quite the shy and retiring mouse he's made out to be.

Me too. John's compositions are generally better crafted with a greater pop sensibility about them.
Where as RTWW, Breakthru, DLYH etc are all very similar if listened to carefully. John wrote a wide variety where as Rog pretty much stuck to the same tempo pop-rocker in the 80s.
