Just a thought I wonder if the band ever tried to recreate the opera section of Bo Rhapsody to do live. After all Freddie did do parts of the Prophets song live.

Maybe during the first rehearsals for the Night at the opera tour the thought came to mind

Or at least, the first time they played it as a separate song, rather than bit by bit throughout the set.

I've always, always thought the guys weren't ambitious enough with this.
Yes , we all know they couldn't fully replicate the record, but the tribute acts have a half decent bash and they (Queen) belt out 'Somebody to love ' which is also opera - orientated, histrionically.
Think they could've done the business to an acceptable standard.

Somebody To Love is gospel not opera. Somebody to love has stacked vocal harmonies but a very powerful melody on which they sit.
Bo Rhap has multiple voices with very little behind them in the "opera" section. As a live band Queen had three voices for vocal parts. Those three voices singing Bo Rhap live would sound pitiful in comparison with the recorded songs huge broad vocal arrangement.
The whole cast of We Will Rock You get away with it because there are enough voices to approximately cover what appears on the song. As far as tribute bands go, I've never seen a four piece pull it off well.
The band on their own could never have done that

Opera - gospel , I actually know they're not the same ! .the similarity I'm making is the power of the vocal ensemble.
"Find me somebody to lo -ve...' - 'He's just a poor boy from a poor family....' - very much in the same vein. If they managed 1, they could do the other, I feel.

I think artistically it was a necessary decision for them to have the taped section play so they could all get their blowies before the encore.

^They are tremendously supported by tape (It's curious if they paid QPL as they're using actual recording to perform the whole song)'

Did they ever do March of the black queen in full live , again i suppose it would have needed a taped section. The taped opera section was never loud enough to my ear in Bo Rhap.

The opera section at Hammersmith '12 blew my head off. Amazing stuff.
Where in TMOTBQ would they need a tape?

Wasn't it stated that when they introduced BoRhap into their setlist they actually rehearsed opera section live, listened back to it and decided that it's not good enough ?

The genius of Bohemian Rhapsody live was that the band DID leave the stage - coming back with all the stops out gave the song massive impact. It worked FAR better as a whole piece than in its earliest incarnation with the sections split up.
