Did John Deacon play the first 'Don't Lose Your Head' guitar solo?

I've noticed that on the official lyric video for 'Don't Lose Your Head', a picture of John Deacon is on screen for the entire duration of the first guitar solo. You'd think they would show a picture of Brian during a guitar solo. That made me wonder, is it just a coincidence, or did he actually play the guitar solo?

I would expect Brian to play all the solo guitar, but John is also credited (according to the Wikipedia) with playing electric guitar on the track. Is it possible?

Unlikely. If John did play on that track, odds are he only did rhythm.

I think the Wikipedia mention comes from the official album credits. "Oh, John played some guitar on the album. I have no idea where, so just in case I'll put the credit on this track."

Isn't that the kind of guitar playing from Brian that John often wanted to get rid of? So why would HE play like that? (Well, yes, it's a bit more "rocking" song than John's songs, but still...) No, I'd say it's not John and it's a coincidence that a picture of him appears at that point.

Can someone with a good musical ear confirm whether or not it's played on the Red Special? I agree that it's probably Brian either way, but if it is the Red Special, then the chances of it being John decrease to almost zero.

Going all out to ruin ADRRFMD. If that was on the album instead of DLYH I think history may be more kind to that album.

I thought i was the only one. In it's style, A Dozen Red Roses for my Darling is a very enjoyable song, quite different to the "Queen sound".

Probably the worst song from Queen lyric wise. The music of the song though is quite entertaining.

Agree with earlier post....A Dozen Red Roses for my darling is a fantastic track especially if you are driving....their best instrumental by far. The Don't Lose Your Head version took away most of the energy of the song....at minimum the instrumental should have been included among the extra versions on the CD
