Subtext: "Broken heads"

I've watched tutorials on this online (*as if that resolves the problem) but has anyone here worked practical magic with this situation?

I've thought of locating another drive second hand (model and make) and swapping parts, (namely attempting to exchange the read/writearms) but considering the degree of optimization required, it seems likely impossible.

Any advice, whole saler website where i could begin to approach this in a practical manner?

Or will i just have to hang it up and off a necklace and inscribe a message on it: "remember to back up your backup"?

Happened to me a few years back. I'm sorry to say this but file recovery can be very expensive (I'm talking thousands of dollars).

The worst part is that in most cases you pay for the attempt at recovering files, and not what is actually recovered. Basically rolling the dice.

Yeah. I considered it dead after days of stressful research. Maybe I'll plunk out the platter and wear it as a necklace with "back up your back up" inscribed on it
