His albums are really really good. And his Brel nights (2 of which I shared here) are amazing.
I think he suffers from bad management. Certainly ok for his theatrical work, but if he wanted to pursue a more rock concert orientated career (I wish he would) he needs to change it up a bit. Would love to see him doing his 70s stuff (mixed with Brel etc) in a rock setting as opposed to in a brassiere or where ever it was he played this week.

He suffers from being in that bracket of a mass of talented people that have and will never break out into proper stardom.
His rock albums are surprisingly heavy - probably something that his stage musical fans didn't 'get'. A pity.
Very proud to have had dinner with him and discussed allsorts of things. There's a great book in there.

Alright what do you think of David Evans' comment about Freddie wanting to own Straker's voice like a possession. I see him producing songs for him as just a gesture of friendly support, not possessive ownership. I like David Evans for keeping it real in his Freddie book (no saintly stuff) but at times it's more that he is the one with jealousy issues not Freddie.
I got the sense Straker is not liked, also!

Reminded me of Bruce Dickinson....only gayer.
Certainly a more formidable swordsman.
@kokax: I keep meaning to do a high quality transfer - don't hold your breath though :)

Bruce Bruce or Straker?
I think Straker might have better "sword" handling skills in this
I think he's got a great voice and seems to be a fun person to be around going by what I've seen on interviews and the garden lodge tapes.
Does anyone here know the real story why Freddie fell out with him?

He was good in Dr Who!
He’s very old. Older than Freddie would be now.
I was going to write what was basically my first post in this thread. Glad I checked.
