Any other Mono mixes?

There’s a ton of Elektra promo 45s that have the main single in mono on the B-Side. I’m pretty sure they’re all fold down mono mixes.

Probably. But certainly sound great on this evidence.

BTW I heard a (Stereo) Elektra promo of the It's Late edit and WOW it sounded fantastic. I guess they just had the mastertapes sent over from UK but someone obviously did something nice to it along the way.

Or I'm so used to hearing bodged remasters and have forgotten what the original releases sounded like.

yes can't wait for the queen mono mixes on colored vinyl box set. lol

queen in mono... i think the last band you'd want to hear in mono is Queen.

there are very few bands that absolutely deserve to have their entire collection in 5.1 or better yet 7.1 atmos.... Queen is one of them.

(rush, steely dan also come to mind)

Agreed :)

I was talking about old releases - a completest would've liked Mono versions as bonus tracks, especially any that might contain notable mix differences.

Mono mix can be interesting for who collects all versions... this is also my case :)
You can check queenpedia in section 7" US promos (Elektra 73-82)... this list can be incomplete but it's a start point
http://www.queenpedia.com/index.php?title=USA_7%22_Promos
and also in 12" promos we can find something

Wow - there's loads. If anyone could rip them that would be amazing :)

Why is this a thing when the multitrack is there?

Because authentic different mixes are canon. Homemade stem mixes are meh.

I think Killer Queen sounds great in mono - it suits well in that it's basically a baroque pop song on a shuffle beat, could've believably been a hit in 1966. I'd still pick stereo if forced to choose, and certainly their more dense productions wouldn't work very well in mono.

I didn't know KYA on the Elektra GH was mono. Just checked mine. It's sure is!

maybe for a simple mistake, kya mono version was featured in GH elektra instead of the stereo version, single edit 7" not promo 73 & 75 are in stereo

Yeah seems weird they used the mono edit. Poor labelling I imagine. But you think it might have been noticed and corrected for the CD?

I'm sorry, I didn't catch you, you mean if they had corrected information on sleeve/label/cover of CD Version? LP and CD version of KYA present in Greatest Hits Elektra are both Mono and there are no information (on cover) about version
