well! thanks for the teaser... i couldn't resist DL that stuff until my copy of the overprized prduct will arrive. everything's good for that means.
but it makes me curious...
for that very song...
assuming they have tapes of any show they gave... STEREO shows, not multitracks...
why is ist that such a copy sounds wonderful as it is ?
well... don't get me wrong... they did take stereo-copies of any show (that's the myth)... but by any means...
why didn't they release that freakstuff in 2011 ? it would have been a hell of a blast for the "extended" albums...
... anyone here who is into conspiracy-theories ?
is it REALLY the live-tape... of is it about mixing some... RAW studio performance... with some live stuff...?
i don't know. it's almost too "clear" and ... too listenable to be only a record of a common show...
yes... i know that post production holds powerful mixing tools---
anyway ... is it a live performance by it means ?
i really don't know.
please (PLEASE) discuss !

Sorry to post again, but listening to these on YouTube, and GDML is just amazing and highlights the wonderful interplay beteween ALL of them in the improv sections. One can also easily hear the genesis of parts of Let Me Entertain You. Similary, SIdewalk shows that the official version as not just a one-off; that they could cut it live and in some respects improve upon it. An utter joy to listen to again and again.

Seems fine SOTS live! Interesting! But Freddie oversings it.

Thanks! Freddie was in great vocal shape in those early NOTW concerts. I hope some more audience recordings will emerge someday (pre-Detroit shows). I love the 2nd half of Get Down Make Love. What a great band they were. Who Needs You is really interesting and It's Late was always one of my favourite Brian's song so it was a great joy to listen!

I'm sure he was in great shape throughout the entire tour. He sounds fantastic on all the recordings we have.
If only they'd understand we would be thrilled if they' release those old concert recordings. Imagine having several complete sbds from that tour...

I can't say he wasn't in great shape because he was but if you compare Detroit rendition of WATC to the filmed one in Munich (first which comes to my mind) Freddie was much more daring with his voice in November. CD3 in the boxset is missed opportunity. Instead of what they included on this disc which doesn't make sense to me, they could give us soundboard recording of some US show (Inglewood!!! or the one with SOTS whatever it is).
