Why was A Day At The Races seemingly ignored for a "special" edition? We've had numerous releases of ANATO, and now the NOTW box set, but nothing for ADATR.

If they have all the multi tracks, a 5.1 mix would be awesome, plus they could use bits of, if not all of, Earls Court for an accompanying CD or DVD. I'm sure they could manage to "fix" some of the issues with the recordings. I would guess they must also have enough archive material for an outtakes CD. Would it be too much to hope for a 45th Anniversary edition? That would give them four years to put something together.

Because they got this idea probably after success of Sgt. Pepper 50 AE box set... So It's All Too Late for ADATR :)

I still hope 2018 brings us the tenth anniversary edition of TCR, including Frederick's favourite song that he couldn't live to hear, Frederick's favourite bass-playing performance by anyone other than Good Ol' Deaks, Frederick's favourite album cover, Frederick's favourite drummer (Taylor Hawkins) on harmonies and, of course, an alternate take of every single song by Frederick's other favourite singer, Kerry Ellis.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

You forgot the Blu-Ray The Next American Dream featuring The Half sold US Arena tour featuring extra footage of Jeff Scott Soto playing Freddie's favourite Free albums while sitting in a hotel room just down the road from where ever that nights gig was with his hand on the telephone just in case! ??

TCR -- Roger and Rodgers were motivated in the studio, but Brian phoned it in. Then on tour Rodgers phoned it in while Brian did his rawk star shtick, which is still ongoing.

And I can not wait for 2024. The 50th anniversary of both Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack. The box will so extensive that they will need to use a truck for delivery.
Basically blind em and deaf em in the first 10 minutes, and while they are recovering from that put in the less good songs

While Queen, Queen 2 were excellent albums in my opinion they wern't a commercial success, so I don't think they will ever get the Boxset treatment. Jazz had some hits and personally I like the album in general but the same goes....not successful enough for a boxset. The albums I think would get that special treatment is Sheer Heart Attack, their first breakthrough album. Obviously ANATO, NOTW and The Game would be next up. Races really should get the special treament as well, but for some odd reason it's considered a weaker version of Opera by the general public and critics. I do think ANATO is slightly the stronger of the 2, but Races is really close excellence in my opinion.
