LP's don't have inferior sound to CD's. For the mos part, the Queen collection sounds better on the original first UK pressings. It's not about the format, it's about the mastering. Although in saying that, there's CD's that come close to the original UK albums.

Yes, some vinyls sound better than some CDs.

Yes and no. As a vinyl collector and audio enthusiast I still only half agree with you. Let me try to explain.
The Miracle, Innuendo and Made In Heaven are exactly this as well: Digital recordings pressed to analogue. The LP isn't necessarily the best sounding source there. Original press or not.
My advice therefor would be: IF you insist on staying true to the original sound of those, buy the first press cd versions. The Dutch cd version of Innuendo sounds better than any vinyl ever produced from that album.
Loudness war is a problem. I agree. But let's not fool ourselves: the original USA and Japanese vinyl releases have heavy compressed sound as well. "Loudness war" (or maximising/compressing audio) is nothing new.
We agree in everything in different forms. Of course an LP has an inferior sound compared to a CD. I don't like US/Japanese LP pressings. Also AKOM is digital (DDD) to analogue.
LP's for me are a mere souvenir. I will always prefer CDs.
Well see. We don't agree then im afraid.
Vinyl sounds far more superior when it's an analogue recording, mastered for vinyl, pressed onto high quality vinyl. A perfect example of this is the Beatles Mono vinyl boxset. The best way to listen to the Fab Four in my humble opinion. Of course you'll need a decent setup but that's same for cd.
