HI everybody! I got a hard question for you all..
I've just watched the footage from Tokio 1975 in the pro-video "Stormtroopers in Stilettoes" and i've noticed that the moment from the medley (Lap of the gods, Killer Queen, The march of the black queen and Bring back that Leroy Brown) at Son and Daughter Freddie wear a different clothes!!
Why???
When he changed clothes??
I mean after "Bring back" they started "Son and daughter" and during the little clip on the footage we can see the first part of the song with Freddie in black with a flower jacket (like Keep yourself alive video 73) ..... and the ending of the song he wearing another jacket but this is more reasonable because it is after Brian Solo.....
My question is from "Bring back" to "Son and Daughter"...maybe that footage is from another gig???

That's a good question actually. There is 20 seconds between "Bring Back..." and "Son and Daughter". And Freddie was talking during those 20 seconds...

Assuming you are talking about the video shared here by The Wizard some time ago ... (if you're not ignore my post)
I started to synchronize it, but I had to basically give up. Most of the footage could be synchronized properly, but there were several clips which simply did NOT match the existing audio recordings. I did assume that those clips might actually come from one of the previous Japanese nights, so I gave it to The Real Wizard. He managed to re-do it in such a way that there were NO "problematic" shots, so I assumed that I've simply done some mistake.
So short version - yes, maybe the originally silent footage comes from 2 nights, but we probably won't get any official confirmation

Ahh - good catch.
I got the sequencing wrong. The bit of the Son And Daughter chorus should be from the end of the song, after the guitar solo when Freddie has changed his clothes. So the two clips of the song should be in reverse.
All the footage is from May 1, without a doubt.

I don't think that the bit of the Son And Daughter chorus should be from the end of the song because Freddie had another jacket (black and white) as we can see when we introduce Keep Yourself Alive!
Probably the bit with the flower jacket is from another song at the end of the show???

If we're talking about the clip shot from below with Freddie stomping across the stage, is that not from the March 1974 Rainbow show? Freddie is wearing the same black pants as he did in other parts of that show. And do we know of him (or anyone else as they switched jackets amongst them) in other pics still wearing that black and white flower jacket in 1975?
The first time I recall seeing that bit was in the Zandra Rhodes documentary from a number of years back. It also had a couple of seconds of the footage with Freddie in the black and white gown type outfit, which is shown in the Stormtroopers In Stilletto's footage (and which is from Tokyo, 1975).
The very end bit of Stone Cold Crazy in the 'Live Tokio Japan At Budokan 1 May 1975' footage on YouTube looks to be from a different concert, not Japan 1975, going on Freddie's hair. In the Japan footage his hair was much more poofy and frizzy with those sort of side curls and in that bit of Stone Cold Crazy it's much smoother, closer to the March 1974 Rainbow look (when Freddie's hair never looked better, imo).

You're right - maybe it isn't Son And Daughter.
I'd be very surprised if it was from a different show. But when would Freddie have changed the outfit? Maybe this is from the second encore or something?
Without audio it's just so hard to know.
Good work in pointing that out !

Yeah maybe you're right, probabily Rainbow '74.....or the second encore of Tokyo'75...i don't know
The ending of Stone cold crazy i think it's from Tokyo'75 and he changed the black and white jacket probabily before, maybe during Roger solo in Keep yourself alive, It's the same outfit during In The Lap of the Gods revisited also.
I got another question for you guys but it's another story and i'll write it in another post!!

So, where does this footage come from then? I'm a bit baffled tbh.
On Bob's site, there are photos of Freddie wearing THAT jacket here: http://queenlive.ca/queen/75-05-01
If it was from this gig, that would mean that Freddie changed his clothes a total of 5 times. After NIH/OG, SAD, KYA (drum solo), ITLOTG..R and for the encores (strip act).
It's possible but very unlikely. Also, on the topic of Tokyo '75, I discovered possibly a bit of Doing All Right that was missed during the syncing process, here's a preview, what do you think?

I'd always thought that clip of Freddie stomping across the stage, shot from below was from the March '74 Rainbow show, but looking closer at it now, he's wearing that large metal belt buckle and I've not seen him wearing that in any other pics from the March show. In fact, he's not even wearing any belt in pics from that show (though the pants looks the same).
Also, his hair here looks a bit frizzier than in the March show. So, who knows...though I'd still think it was from 1974, just since I don't recall ever seeing him wear that black and white flower jacket in 1975. But..could be from '75, I suppose.

I think you're right but it's not the intro. Freddie played the entire intro in E major, so his left hand stayed all the time on octave E, like in this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcjVaR6XXYo
This is somewhere later. That's my guess :)

The footage where Freddie stomping across the stage is mysterious yet....
I think that the clip is from the encore where Freddie wear a Kimono but under he has got the black trousers and maybe during the medley he remove the Kimono and remain with the black dress with that jacket..
Or it's from the second encore....maybe the walk is during the verse SEE ...WHAT.... A FOOL ...I'VE BEEN...:-) i doin't know!!

The first time I saw this footage was in the Zandra Rhodes documentary from a few years back. Where did the producers of that show get the footage? Wouldn't there be more than just a 2 second clip? So strange.
