This is an excellent audience tape from 1978 that emerged last year. The best copy we've got at the moment is a copy the taper uploaded to his YouTube channel, and it was from a CDR with a half second missing at the beginning of each track. I did my best to smoothen out those gaps, as well as correcting the speed (the tape ran a bit fast) and EQing it (there was too much bottom end, except for '39 where John Deacon is on his fretless bass - the arena may have been boomy that night).

The show is great, and the tape may well be the best sound quality of the tour (only Montreal, Chicago, and Vancouver rival it). Hopefully the taper will let out his raw transfer of the master, but for now this certainly will do. A million thanks to him for posting this copy to begin with.

The intro to Bohemian Rhapsody is worth the price of admission - the only known tape of the band playing this piece of music live.

AUD > Master Cassette > ? > YouTube > mp3 (convert2mp3.net) > WAV (GoldWave speed correction, EQ) > FLAC level 8

(I converted it to FLAC so that more quality would not be lost, but obviously this isn't lossless)

Taper's notes:

"I was in the 3rd row and it was my 4th Queen show) Their shows were getting more elaborate as the years went on but the music was always perfect) It was a wonderful evening and this tape is full of memories so enjoy and experience what I heard.

This is my private recording. I managed to capture some of the great classic bands that played in the Rhode Island/Boston area. These tapes were very private for many years and were made so I could enjoy listening the show again. As a concert taper, I was not associated with bootleggers but just a fan of music. If you enjoy listening to this show please respect the rights of the artist and support them by buying their records and seeing their shows when they come to your town.

Please never sell or support people that try to profit from live recordings."

And very important - do not barrage the taper with requests for his stuff. It is not necessary - enough people are already in touch with him, and he says he will look for more Queen tapes if he has them.

Please respect his privacy. It was enough effort to digitize these tapes after about 40 years.

Thanks Real Wizard and thanks to the Taper, sometimes someone doesn't want lose a few second for a simply thanks...a bad attitude with no justifications... and sometimes people are ungrateful and unpatienced, nevertheless your work continues without interruption for years. Thanks for all what that you do for this community.

Somebody to Love - "yeah, I want to film them too"? Did I hear that correctly? As in "somebody" filmed the gig?

I hear it too. A guy with a strong accent is talking:

"Are you recording them?"
...something i don't understand maybe "it was a joke"? with a girl laughing just after... but english-speaking people will surely understand...
"i want to film them too"
"i'm sorry, *something i don't understand*, i saw them when you, it bumps me out, *something i don't understand* first american tour"
