i saw the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (with the Royal Choral Society) play Queen songs in 1981 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Great night. Conducted by Louis Clark (connected to ELO).

It was released as an album in 1982 and, in my opinion, is probably the best 'classical' version of Queen songs if you're keeping to the spirit of the songs (the Tolga Kashif thing, while technically brilliant, is a bit pretentious and un-necessary).

I believe it was re-released as 'The Queen Collection' etc with the applause taken out and the tracks re-arranged.

However the original (vinyl) album was a great momento of a great night (Louis Clark donated the proceeds to the British Heart Foundation). A single version (7" vinyl) of Bohemian Rhapsody was also released.

I don't like sharing my personal Queen pics but here's one of that night, December 8th 1981

I thought you meant this before I looked it up :)

The first place I heard those tunes as a kid. Funny Peter Straker sung Bo Rhap on that.
