Oh my lord....let me tell you people something...I tried being nice and say nice things about Queen/Lambert, but watching this concert they did recently is so horribly embarrassing. I once said Lambert fits Queen better than Rodgers. How wrong was I? Seeing Lambert do his Killer Queen routine made me cringe. Watching these guys play together made me think of one thing....when are Brian and Roger going too retire the Queen name? Is this how They're going out? I'm not bashing anyone, I'm also not saying everything was perfect in those 20 years with Fred and John (Hot Space). They had some downs, but this whole Lambert thing is so wrong on so many levels.
Mike Hunt: Yes you are right, Queen with Adam Lambert looks so awkward to watch and May & Taylor have scraped the bottom of the barrel this time!
If they had any common sense they would have gracefully retired the Queen name in respect of John & Freddie and think of a new name for there appalling combo of Adam, Brian & Roger.
The Magic of Queen in concert stopped after that final Knebworth gig back in 1986 and it was a massive mistake to think Queen could carry on without Freddie & John.
The whole show now is a dogs dinner.
And I don't care if tickets are selling, lots of kids like Lambert because he's young and good looking not because he's a great rock singer and writer. If that's the case Justin Bieber would be better than Hendrix and The Who. I personally don't know how anyone could defend this.
Its so sad because many fools do not know what talent is these days. Years ago in the 70s you had to prove you had talent otherwise you would end up getting know where, you had to show case and sell yourself, but today they go on these hyped talent shows and get money left right and centre thrown at them and then there is all the hype and marketing to make believe they are stars, just look at James Arthur, a typical homophobic thug druggie, who got all the hype and support from Simon Cowell, but he is truly talentless. Adam Lambert is no better.
Slane Castle 1986 when he appears out of the smoke.
