Excuse me if this, as an official track, can't be shared here.
I recently found in the Argentinian Innuendo vinyl, a very weird edit of All God's People.I'm sharing my own digital transfer. NOT the usual edit (wich fades early), but it seems like very badly made. It cuts the words "incredible", at 3:10. Also, is ten seconds shorter than the usual vinyl edit.
Anyone noticed this before?
Cheers,
Maxi

Thank you for sharing this. How do these happen? I have the Argentinian edits of I Want It All and Star Fleet and obviously someone had to make these versions somehow, unless they're some sort of mastering error.

Anything that shortens that song of wishful thinking is an improvement.

i love this song! probably the weakest of the bottom 3 on innuendo - in my opinion - 1. All God's People, 2. Delilah and 3. The Hitman - but still a fun fresh track to listen to every once in a while. If they kept touring, I would think they would have used it within the setlist - if not in its entirity then coupled with some other songs in a medley - particularly the dream bit and accompanying solo. or even as part of an intro bit a-la one vision... "rule with your heart and live with your conscience......it's a kind of magic.... a kind of......love, love and be, love, love and be...." straight into Tie Your Mother Down to open the tour of 92. if only.

I love it too. Get the sense that Freddie sang about Aids and that every one should care more about the victims. Read the lyrics and look, touch and feel. Rule with your heart and live with your concouises.

i thought this song had nothing to do with AIDS or death for that matter. seemed to me it was satire re: people's obsession with religion in general. the continuing message was "rule with your heart and live with your consience" which is basically the opposite of almost every religion which teaches you to love and serve God. the song says you should love and serve no one but yourself.
the open your eyes line is meant to challenge the very idea that allows religion to exist... faith. look, touch and feel is something you cannot do in regards to religion. you have to believe. which drives home the whole point of the song - that we're not all god's people - serve yourself - and live freely.

I kinda always felt a touch of that, too.
For instance, the mantra at the end only includes the words "we're all Gods, we're all gods, we're all God's"
Which may echo the sentiment of a song like "get up stand up" by Bob Marley.
Also, a mere change in punctuation makes it "We're All Gods, People."
Though that was probably unlikely, it IS worth consideration

Hahaha. +1
Sure sounds like it. Terrible "edit"
Thank you for sharing.
It's now officially a good thing they never performed this song in Argentina, people would all be prepared and anticipating this horrible pause and jump

I'm one of those who love this song. One of my favourite vocals track in the Queen catalogue. Overall vocals on Innuendo are absolutely amazing. Also very interesting how distincly Freddie's voice is changing from 1987/88 sessions to 1990 sessions (at 2:04).

I like it as well. I like to think that this song, the Innuendo LP in general as well, illustrates how mature Queen became.
Of course Freddie's illness played a huge part in this (next to the fact that the majority of the members were in their 40s when the material was released) Makes you wonder what Queen would have evolved to wouldn't Freddie have died.
