*** NOTE ***
The "Unusual Collection" became the "Unusual Anthology". Please go to http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1509804/golden-salmons-unusual-anthology.aspx for the updated volume. Thanks!
Today's upload is "The Unusual Versions" (version 1.0). This volume contains several recordings not mentioned at Queenvault.com, ultimatequeen.co.uk, or both, and other less common versions that you might have missed.
This is an open project for all Queen fans. Should you wish to help me modify and improve my collection for everyone to enjoy, please observe the following ideas:
RULES:
- Only versions of already released tracks.
- No fan mixes, only select official and unofficial professional mixes.
- Only distinctive versions of any given track. No additional versions with minor differences such as earlier fade-outs.
- Anything that hasn’t been shared to death (YMMV) in multiple bootlegs over the years.
EXCEPTIONS:
- Raw multitrack mixes. Arranging the tracks to recreate a “normal” version with new hidden bits or removing anything that gets in the way of a “normal” mix is acceptable.
- Bonus tracks don't have to be fully compliant with the rules. The "fun" factor prevails.
REQUESTS:
- Any other recording that follows the rules.
- Higher quality and/or lossless sources for current files and future additions.
What’s interesting about this volume is that it actually contains 6-7 largely undocumented tracks, which is worth looking into. Some of them aren’t very exciting, but others really are, in my opinion of course.
That's all for today! See you tomorrow with Volume 3: "The Unusual Shares"!

DISCLAIMER: I am aware of the number of tracks that are/were officially available. There will be nothing too recent in this collection that isn't freely and easily available today (through official channels or otherwise, difference being these are downloads rather than streams). Other fans in this site have shared similar status material in their own compilations, but I'll remove anything in order to comply with copyright.
Also, it is worth clarifying what I’m trying to do with my compilations:
What this collection actually is:
- A project made for fun (first and foremost).
- A COLLABORATIVE project. You are welcome to discuss, improve and even complain! (Within reason) I'm fully open to remove, revise and rebuild this compilation from the ground up, for the sake of keeping it interesting. Also, please report any mistakes you find regarding dates, typos and whatnot.
- A compilation of unusual (your mileage may vary!) recordings.
- A different, more original kind of compilation than previous ones with some twists, again, for the sake of fun.
- A collection aimed at newish fans to the band, or fans who are familiar with every Queen and solo album but never really delved deep into the sea of alternative Queen versions and rarities. And fans in general, of course.
- A modest effort to restore some tracks.
What this collection is NOT:
- A comprehensive, rigorous compilation of rarities.
- An "anything goes" file dump. There are rules and quality standards, however loose they may be. (This is an amateur effort!)
- Something meant to blow expert collectors away. I wish!
- A CD-friendly format. Only one, maybe two of the 1.0 versions may actually fit on a single CD, and there's no artwork provided as of today. Also, some 48 kHz tracks must be downsampled for that purpose.
- A painstaking effort to provide the absolute best of the best quality for all recordings.

Thank you Salmon! This is amazing :).
I just wanted to know if I could submit my take on the Killer Queen (raw multitrack mix)? It's mostly like the one here (which is amazing btw), but it's in stereo and (in my opinion) a better level mix, while keeping all the trimmings. I do use the multitracks available from http://www.piotreqrmx.com/multitracks.html. Thank you again for this collection :).

^Yes, absolutely! As I mention in the included document, I'm sure that your mix can be far superior to the one I provided. Quite frankly, it's there simply because of the unused bits.
This is a collaborative effort. I'm not an audio expert (some people here can do wonders I only dream of) and anything anyone can contribute with to create a better product for all the fans to enjoy is very welcome!
If you are fine with it, a future 1.1 version would include your version and any others you'd like to submit, and full credit to you of course!

Thank you.
I'm completely fine with that :).
I also took the time to organise and tag the songs you included originally, but I didn't put an album cover on. I added track numbers, titles and organised them into two folders - Disc 1 and Disc 2 (Extras - only All Dead at the moment).
My track is 24. Killer Queen (Raw Multitrack Mix).
I've also left yours in as 04. Killer Queen (Raw Multitrack Mix), incase you would like to keep it.
Notes for Killer Queen:
Outtake at the begining of the track
Freddie counts in before start
A lot more guitar tracks then the final version
Backing vocals over the guitar solo removed from official release
Studio talk - Freddie and Roger - at the end of the track
The Piano track loses audio on the right side occasionally (not noticeable during the track, but can be heard in the outtake at the start)
Clicks continue until drum track starts.
I've also added a version without clicks in the Disc 2 folder, incase anyone wants it without (and the clicks were annoying ;) ). You can remove that if you like since it's only a minor change.
Finally, I will upload the audacity files I used to create it, but it will take a while because they're quite big.
Freddie say's "That's it" towards the end of the track before the guitar outro.

Wow, thank you so much Defining Awesome! You did a lot more than I could have expected. You even renamed the files to first letter uppercase, haha. Your mix is really nice! Far cooler than any of my efforts. If you're into making them, you should look forward to one of the upcoming volumes ;-)
My plan is to first release all 5 volumes, then collect feedback from the board, make changes to the 1.0 versions (additions, improvements and even removals), maybe include some discarded tracks and finally releasing a complete collection, a more polished product than the initial release. The more people help with this, the better!
But it's a bit too early to talk about that. On with the show :-)

Did you not like? What was wrong with it?
Personally, I don't need any of the stuff on the compilation so don't need to download it, but it's a good effort and the guy's trying to do something that hopefully turns out to be a cool collaborative thing between QZoners. It's better than talking shite about what a Miracle Tour might have been like, or infighting!

just one thing. The Jesus Trident demo is the De Lane Lea Demo, and you can find it on Queen I Deluxe Edition from 2011 in great quality

Thank you. I am not Queen Productions, a legendary collector or anybody to write home about, I'm just trying to do something new and convenient for everyone. I'd love it if four or five people teamed up with me to help improve these compilations and create a really cool version 2.0. Also, some of these tracks aren't properly documented and there's a chance many fans don't have them or even know about them. In the end, this is just for fun.

Sure, I described that in the attached document, it's just a different source. I'm sorry for any confusion.
Volume 3 incoming!

I can't wait to see the further releases! I love the multitracks, I've made my own backing tracks and such with all that have been released (although Brighton Rock is proving difficult!)
