Since we have so many interviews of the band, i was thinking, is this the oldest one that we have now? I'm not sure but what a fascinating time document.

Wow, thanks for the heads up! Interesting to hear John say that his role in the band is bass and 'singing a bit'! And Brian emphasizing McCartney as his favorite in The Beatles.

This would certainly be one of them. There is a snippet of a 1974 interview with the band on a December 1976 UK Capitol Radio show, where they replay one of Queen's earlier visits. There's also a 1974 Dutch radio interview with Roger, though I'm not sure when in 1974 those are from. The Dutch one might be from December as they were in Dutch speaking countries towards the end of the year. So, considering this is from late November, 1974, it's likely their second earliest interview. (that we have, of course).

Great listen.
Kind of awkward at times, as the interviewer is both young and a bit lacking in English. The whole "big" and "small" records thing is hilarious.
At 8 minutes Brian talks about the Beatles and Hendrix, saying they're his heroes. The Finnish guy says "they're all kind of dead."
"In a way, yeah. Not for me."
Ever the diplomat, even in his late 20s.

Here's a related article with a new photo from the show. Don't think it has ever been posted here before.

Thank you Chin! And Bob for the link :)
This is a great find. The one and only time Queen were in Finland and now we have this interview.

Bumped into this one as well while I was looking for the Lund pictures.
I believe I read somewhere the kid that interviewed the band was only 12 at the time.
edit: I read that on Bob's website. :)

Just got around to listening. Really great. Love the RT answer 'it's an organ' as opposed to we used a sound effect sample.
I like the kid.

Interesting Brian says Sparks are a fav. I wonder if that was after they tried to nick him?
