Tim Staffell and Nile Rogers with Brian in studio

Anyone got any thoughts on Tim & Nile being in the studio with Brian? Do you think they're re-creating some early Smile stuff for the movie soundtrack? Maybe doing something else? Very interesting!

I saw the pics on Instagram yesterday. It'd be great to have them recording some new tunes but I think they were just visiting unfortunately.

I saw the pic of Brian with Nile Rodgers...didn't realise that Tim Staffell was also present; how cool!

Interestingly noted that this was in Abbey Road (see Nile's social media) where the movie soundtrack work was/is being worked on....not somewhere I would imagine Tim recording unless by invite or for a specific project? (Rodgers was there filming footage for a TV ad campaign so presumably just 'dropped in' on Brian and Tim, who Brian specifically says were 'enjoying studio time' which would pretty much intimate recording rather than just socialising)

Think it'd be pretty cool if he came on stage and did Doin' Alright with the band during their summer gigs. The majority of the audience wouldn't know him or the song, but fuck 'em

Would be kinda cool if "The Crown Jewels" set in Las Vegas is actually an entire new show with a Smile segment etc. Will probably just be a shortened show based on the summer tour though.

I did wonder if there was a link.

Maybe remastering the Smile tracks for a proper release?

I think it's for the movie, very interesting to see Tim involved, I like that a lot, nice of then to go down that road with him
