@ Vocal Harmony Of course no one expects "90 minutes of a gay movie". I think that most of people is expecting a movie which will present a Freddie as a person as he really was.
The main question is whether this is a movie about Freddie Mercury or movie about Queen and their music. If it's movie about Freddie it's not fair that this part of his life (gay lovers, friendship with other friends, AIDS, solo work, love and life with Jim ) will be is very small part of movie or it doesn't exist in the movie.
And I repeat again , of course, we have not seen the movie yet. But we can comment about trailer and what is being told about the movie. Probably there will be more trailers. My coments were most about trailer.

Freddie is the hardest member to copy, the rest are easy.
Dont think the guy acting like Freddie got it right though and they are steering away from Freddies gay life style and almost insisting that he dated girls more which is wrong.
Mercury had 99% more male lovers than female.
then again, who cares...
But thing is Nick. If you take away his gay lifestyle then what do we got? Thats Freddie 100% thrue and thrue..
you're kinda right, I do personally believe that the film is censoring certain aspects throughout the film FM and Queen's career more attractive than it was in reality.

Personally i think the film will be a car crash just like everything else that has been put out after freddies passing.
Money making schemes with no quality attached but hey anything Brian & Roger gets involved with now turns out rubbish.

Oh God, I can't believe some of the posts here.
Freddie was gay, that's it. Bringing up the fact that he had 2 female lovers of some significance doesn't mean he was bi automatically. Is there any mention of him having a female lover other than Barbara Valentin in his last 7 years or so? Or at all? Why haven't all those women come forward in the 25+ years after his death? Oh, and him being promiscuous and careless but he somehow used protection with women and never fathered a kid in 20 years of rock and roll lifestyle.
He was gay. Period.

Oh, and the movie trailer has few scenes depicting/ suggesting him being gay: (1) 70s him looking away from Mary and then the quick clip of 80s Gay-clone Freddie flashing on the screen; (2) then the one with the man approaching him sitting at the piano; (3) and the one with some guy throwing something at - presumably - Freddie's limo while Freddie sings "Killer Queen".
Can't spell it out much more than that.
Also, keep in mind it's a PG13 movie (most likely) so don't expect full frontal male nudity and hardcore gay sex. That's not heterowashing, that's called making a big-budget Hollywood movie.

Wiley : You are correct and many on here are in denial that Freddie was in love with men.
Mary was just freddie pretending that he was one of the guys with a bird so not to attract attention from anyone around him to that fact that he was gay.
Most of Freddies friends in the industry were gay, Cliff Richard, Boy George, Mick Rock, Elton, Wayne Sleep, etc...........
No army of woman knocking on Freddie's doors ever.
When he met Jim Hutton in a bar the first thing said to him was "how big's your cock"

Yeah I'm sure his wife and kids will disagree with this view. But happystar knows best. . . .
Talking of happystar's highly informed views, I haven't seen anyone on here claiming Freddie wasn't gay, bisexual or had gay relationships. I'm sure he'll put us all on the right path by quoting actual posts were he has read all this and I'm sure he will now provide us some documented proof of Mick Rock's gay life style.
