Before Brian started playing the little Grieg part, he asked us in the audience if we had our "day of Grieg today". The reason he asked us may have come of that NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) since Friday had broadcasted about thirty hours of Grieg's music on the occasion of his 175th birthday. These endless live broadcasts have almost become a norwegian phenomenon. This is not a joke but last year we could watch "Reindeer migration - minute by minute". In my country this kind of television is popularly called "slow-TV". So what's next then? See paint dry: minute by minute?
Anyway... it was a pleasure to finally see Brian, Roger and of course Spike live at last. As you know, Queen has not played here since '82 (that's about thirteen years before I was born), so this sunday evening was a dream come true for me. And they did a great gig too. Adam sounded really good - no doubt he has a great voice. But it was Brian's guitar playing which sent shivers down my spine that evening. And Roger's voice is still as hoarse and rasping as it was forty years ago.
I hope most of you will enjoy my first post at this forum. And before I forget, I would like to thank those of you who have over the years shared concert recordings here at Queenzone, and especially the one from Norway '82 :-)
So each and everyone of you who contributes with such material on this site - keep up the good work.

As someone who lives in a country less than 175 years old, I actually marvel at that kind of celebration of culture. You're lucky to have it.
Furthermore, it is enviable how fiscally smart your country has been over the years to the point that the public broadcaster can afford to air reindeer migrations for those who want to watch it. It is admirable.

Whao! Television takes time to do this in your country?! Thirty hours of Grieg?! I wish we had this on our public channels in France. The money people spend in taxes to watch stupid tv games could be better used... In France, we don't have TV commercials on public channels after 8.30 PM and now we have documentaries and theatre in prime time, which was not the case ten years ago. It's getting better, but not to the point of having a celebration of thirty hours for a French composer. See paint dry minute by minute? Well, I wouldn't watch it even if we had. Quite a long time ago, a channel called Canal Jimmy had broadcast a whole day of kaleidoscopic pictures or lava lamp pictures with background music just to experiment. Quite funny at that time but never seen again...

Maybe next year they will invite Brian for a live commentary of the reindeer migration, while Spike will play Krieg (that's Grieg on Korg), and force Breivik to watch it every day.

The journalist from Dagbladet had probably decided before the concert what he would give. By the end of the review, the reader will understand that this journalist mayby should had done some research:
«... and" Bohemian Rhapsody" comes naturally - with classic Queen on video screen and harmony that is not possible to recreate with today's crew.»
