Did Roger ever tear a drum kit/break many sticks and did John break a string ( CAN you break a bass string) or Freddies piano?

Yeah, Freddie's voice packed up once so one of John's spare basses sang lead vocals for the last 3 songs.

as i recall, john's bass had a serious malefunction right AFTER knebworth. :-)

Roger broke LOTS of Ludwig bass drum pedals, and Crystal had to swap them during him playing (which is not easy)
Brian's most famous issue was at Milton Keynes when the guitar became unplugged during his solo, however he has obviously had a lot of issues with string breaks during songs, once a pick-up fell off on a recent tour, and of course he threw the John Birch copy across the stage smashing it after another string break. Freds mic went out a few times and John threw his bass several times
