As a person who works with hundreds of 12-year-olds a year, I find this response a little hurtful. Most 12-year-olds are considerably more mature and eager to learn and improve themselves than this self-absorbed sack of bile. Also, for all their failings, they tend to be much more capable of understanding that their taste (or lack thereof) is not normative and that it is ok for people to disagree with them.
