Not exactly, the promoter sets the ticket prices, usually, based on what he thinks the band can sell, the size of the venues, the kind of act it is and also the size a cost of the production.
Ever heard of inflation? Add to that the difference in production.
In 77 they had four trucks and a crew of 25 Now the show needs between 95 and 120 crew and it travels in 22 trucks.
