@ Brian May: Please die soon. You're ruining the legacy of what was one of the biggest bands in the world. Many thanks.
I hope you are kidding about the "please die soon". O.o

The sooner you die, the sooner we won‘t have to read such shameful comments.
Funny, ey?

There is nothing even remotely outrageous in this feel good small talk interview, on the contrary.
I see the speculation about Freddie's thoughts as a reflection of Brian's genuine concern not to offend his legacy, by carefully choosing a vocalist to measure up to expectations.
This is one version. The other is that Brian has perfected the art of bullshitting to such level that even he could not distinguish the truth beneath.

Lambert can hit the high notes (but so could Roger Taylor back when), but it's still a horrible voice.

All too often these days, you hear "Freddie would've thought..." or "Freddie would've loved..." and now it's "Freddie would've hated".
To me, it seems to be people saying what they'd like Freddie to think, including Brian.

I think Brian’s comment is somewhat sincere in that Freddie may have appreciated some aspect of Adam’s voice...Freddie did appreciate other artists...ie Aretha Franklin, Hendrix as a performer etc.... Adam may be able to hit some notes live more consistently....but Freddie just adjusted his key to deliver the songs in the best way possible..and to make it his own....there is no comparison whatsoever.....I know Adam can sing but nothing sounds as good as Freddie....
As a frontman Freddie was was his awesome spontaneous self...Adam’s set seems very contrived putting this act out there every night....I thought Paul on the other hand was genuine
I think also Brian when talking to the media he is trying to encourage people to go to their shows in spite of Adam for those that would be hesitant because it is Adam

I agree, but having people speculating over what he would've thought would've been Frederick's favourite legacy.

Personally, even though I respect Adam’s singing abilities, and have even went to see them play live once, there’s really no comparison. It’s like comparing something unique in its own right in many ways (Freddie) with something fairly competent but more “ordinary” in a sense. And I know ordinary may be not the best word to describe (English isn’t my first language), as Adam is indeed a great singer and has a very good technique. However, I don’t feel I’m listening to something unique and special when I hear him, not only with Queen but also with his original material or other covers. It lacks a bit of IT factor for me, a proper own style and “voice charisma” if that makes any sense. There are singers who are very less gifted than him and Freddie, and have more personality in their voices and make them more special to listen to than Adam imo, like even Paul Rodgers for example.
Singing on those concerts is not only about hitting the notes, having a great range and proper technique imo. It’s about “selling a song”, interpreting it and adding soul to the music, making it unique. That’s what makes certain artists shine and others not so much. Imo he translates well into some Queen songs, but not all of them,
And that’s brings me to some of the reasons why I think Freddie was a better singer (and much better front man), cause he was unique. His tone was better, he had more than good enough range when not I’ll (impressive range when not I’ll actially), he interpreted the songs with a lot of heart and passion, knew when and how to made them simple, and he was much more versatile as a singer imo. Actually maybe IMO one of the more verstaile singers ever.
How many singers you can picture singing stuff as Lily of The Valley, and Gimme the Prize? So differently that some might not notice it’s the same singer? Any of us could list a vast number of such different songs where Freddie interpreted them in so many different ways, using different nuances, techniques, approaches, etc.
His delivery was unique and it’s not a coincidence he will be remember forever. A lot of people who are not into Queen see him as a singer icon, and don’t even acknowledge his song writing skills. That’s how good of a singer he was.
perfectly said my friend! people please read this post and save it because it really sums it up...So I won't add much here. Listen to Neil Fallon from Clutch. A perfect example of a singer who doesn't sing smooth or hit high notes but I consider him a better singer than Adam. I don't hate the guy, but he's lacking something.

So, anyone looking forward to the movie's post-credits scene with Adam Lambert? They're trying to build a cinematic universe here.

Why would May say something like this anyway? Didn't he realise that Nick Mason from Pink Floyd had always been the true singer in Queen?

I have a feeling the powers that be will squeeze AL in there somehow. Rumor was and still is that he had or has a cameo in it.

There'll be a scene where Freddie comes out of the smoke during a Q+AL show and shakes his hand and says 'not bad, kid' or 'follow your dreams' or some shit.

Regarding that Maylor have lost the plot by now it is VERY likely
