I didn't realise that. I thought that the acoustic guitar was different on the album version but I thought nothing of it.

It's just a IV > V > vi progression. I'm sure it's in thousands of songs.

The intro is a bit like I want to break free. The song as a whole is not even close though. If this is close you could include 100 other songs as well.

The intro to Give It Up by KC & the Sunshine Band sounds a bit similar to IWTBF. Probably cos there's an E chord on a similar sounding synth.
