This is turning out to be awesome community work, wish I could contribute but I'm useless at everything haha.
Although I can play the trumpet, I've got no means of recording it well. lol

Alright, I think I've done my bit. Here are the raw tracks, wav mono files. They should be in sync with the multitrack. I haven't applied anything to them because I don't trust myself at all in this regard so there's no compressor, EQ, nothing. http://mega.nz/#F!zGJUQKzC!if7W-8afTle4Bggd_Y0hYQ Hopefully we have some talented folk who are good at producing :)
I'm also attaching a quick vocal mixdown with some stuff applied so it sounds better as a preview.

Listened through Chief Mouse and Maras contributions. *applause*
Hopefully tracks will keep coming in. Drums, bass, guitar etc :)

Hey everyone,
Apologies for the delay! I've finally managed to record a bass guitar track. It's not an exact duplicate of the original, but I can't stress enough that I'm definitely not John Deacon - I never realized what an amazing job he does on Seven Seas Of Rhye! Anyway, I think this counts as a fairly decent attempt at a bass track for our cover of SSOR, minus one fill that I haven't been able to reproduce well enough as yet.
I recorded this synched to Mara's piano tracks and a mixdown of Roger's drums. Therefore, it runs exactly synchronous to Mara's recordings, but there are an additional 2.51 seconds of silence at the start compared to the PiotreQ multitrack.
I have included two versions, each as both 44.1khz/16 bit and 48khz/16 bit mono wav files. The first is the raw recording, the second has been slightly compressed and EQ'ed.
Here they are:

I hope this'll do. I might manage to improve on it a little, in which case I'll put it in this topic.

Nice one! It wants me to log in to get it. Could you attach them to a post?
Also - vocal people can you post your stems too without the backing tracks?
Excellent. Sticking them all into a protools sesh. Definitely sounds viable!

Glad that I could play my part (no pun intended)! I really hope we can get a drum track, and it'd be great if Bob/The Real Wizard could record the guitar parts. Something really nice is starting to emerge.
So, everyone: keep those tracks coming!

Dysan: I have two vocal tracks. One right, and one left. They are designed to be mixed together. Not sure how good they will sound alone. Should I mix them as one stereo track or two seperate wave files?

I hoped inu-liger would do a drum track? :)

It would be great if we could have some sort of demo version up at some point. I guess thats possible if we have bass, piano, drums and some vocals. Easier to see what can be added then etc. :)

They'll need to be alone I'm afraid! Send them privately if you'll a bit embarrassed - I won't judge.
Even better if you have your lead vocal on a separate mono stem, and the backing vocal on a stereo one.
Will stick something up once we have a bit more than just bass and piano!

OK, so this is what I was able to do with the piano part today. I didn't want to imitate Freddie note by note because I don't see any sense in doing so. Also, I didn't want to be influenced by Mara's recording, so I heard it only once, last Saturday. If it's necessary, both versions (Mara's and mine) can be used, I guess. While recording it, I was playing to the original multitracks, to keep the right tempo (more or less) but obviously, it can be edited in any way.
