If you've been reading the news you might have seen that:

"Jamal Khashoggi, a veteran Saudi journalist, was killed in Istanbul after walking into the consulate of Saudi Arabia,"

I was interested to know if he was any relation to the ship person and...

"Jamal is the nephew of late Adnan Khashoggi, an infamous arms dealer who used to be a key player in the Middle East and is said to have close relations with many prominent figures."

A bit of trivia I wasn't expecting:

"Jamal's cousin, Dodi Fayed, became famous for his relationship with the U.K.'s Princess Diana."

I don't wanna trivialize the murder but when I listened to the song as a teenager I was always perplexed by the name and interested in knowing more.

I guess someone in the band attended maybe a party on his ship. It is a grand ship btw.

Jamal Khashoggi is officially missing at this point. According to Turkish officials he was killed inside the Saudi Arabian consulate, but this hasn’t been confirmed. He’s a journalist and critic of his country’s government, so if he’s been killed this is a major international event. He went to the consulate to get papers for his upcoming wedding.

There's a whole piece on BBC Newswatch about the correct pronunciation of his name. Experts differ. There's been some bonkers versions. Queen's one (the one familiar to me) gets a shout so I'm sticking with that.
