Will the movie encourage people to unearth old Queen goodies?

This new (as in never-before-seen 40 years old) 8mm footage that was just uploaded to youtube has gotten me thinking: is it a coincidence that such a thing makes an appearance at this point in time? I don't think so.
Given that the movie is about to be released worldwide, I was wondering if that will encourage some fans and collectors to dust off some of their items and put them out there for everyone to enjoy. What does it really take for someone to share something new, if not some little motivation?
On top of that, I expect a lot of people to become new fans of the band. The movie might have some great collateral effects for the collecting scene.

That's great!
Don't forget the unseen 1982 recording session for We Will Rock You that they use in the movie.

Are you underestimating Brian's time travel skills? He's an astrophysicist, you know.

Let's hope we will see some footage of Fat Bottomed Girls from 1974-1977.

It'll encourage some new compilation albums of Queen's 70's hits...

Compilation before Christmas, or a repromotion of the platinum collection? Perhaps for 5.99 in HMV. I may repurchase TBH. I'm in the mood for buying a CD.

Absolutley it has for me! Got out my old record and book collection and since then have visited several record shops and two record fairs and topped up my collection with several records and books (some I already had! DOH!).
I'm now some £300 lighter!

So, to the very least, TV channels may actually find some archival footage if only to go along with the BR movie release :-)

I'm not sure how good they'll be, but I might be getting my hands on some New Haven 1982 photos soon
