I would have preferred Wicked instead of him jumping on Queens popularity once again. Not as if there are no other musicals to choose from.
Well without new music out he's best known for Queen + so it makes sense to me, I don't call it jumping on their popularity and I'm pretty sure they won't see it that way, it's more promotion for their music, maybe setting up a tour announcement.
Queen doesn't need AL to promote their music, the biopic, it's doing very well without it.

It never hurts for people to be reminded of Queen, they won't all necessarily be Queen fans who are watching the show and might not have seen the movie. It might encourage them to be interested in seeing a show when they announce a tour.
So icy accepts the movie she hasn’t seen but cannot accept “AL” who she also hasn’t seen.

Again, you are twisting something I've not even said. I haven't said anything about my feelings about the movie, because you are right and I have said I've not seen it. Fact is, though, even I can tell it's getting Queen new fans which I think is a good thing. It's getting more fans than Q+AL, the music is hugely popular these days.
What must you always have a pop at things I haven't gone to? Even after I explained to you many times why I couldn't go.

Thing is, people n the UK especially do not need to be reminded of Queen. Queen is always popular over there.
I don't really care if people who watch Strictly will want to go to a Q+AL show.
I am not sure I understand exactly how Adam is jumping on Queen's popularity as he has sung with them for 6 years, been heard by several million people at the concerts and who knows how many on live streams and youtube. The number of shows they have done together must be close to 200 at this point. He is part of Queen's history which is comprised of three periods, the Queen period, the QPR and the QAL. Whether you agree with that or not, that is a fact. As long as Brian and Roger perform as Queen plus, it is a permanent part of Queen's history. I also never understand why playing concerts all over the world does not promote Queen's music. That is simply ridiculous as Queen has gained tons of new fans over the last 6 years due to Adam's singing. You are fooling yourself, if you can't see that. Adam has been very lucky to sing with Brian and Roger and have this amazing time with them, but Queen would not be touring to such great success without him. Brian and Roger do not want to tour without him. They all have fun and are able to do what they do best at an amazingly high level. I do not see why that is such a hard pill for some of you people to swallow. You must think somehow Adam is taking something away from Freddie which is just a silly idea. Psychologically speaking, I think some of you are worried that Adam is too good at what he does, otherwise it wouldn't bother you so much. It doesn't matter what is said here on the boards, you always need to denigrate everything the man does. Some of you people are Freddie fans and some people are Adam fans and there is nothing wrong with that. It would be so nice if Adam wasn't always crapped on which some of you love to do. And no, Icy, I am not trying to big him up, but some of you just won't ever give him a break and blaming it on his fans is stupid. Every celebrity has dumb fans who are over the top but that shouldn't reflect on the artist. If a silly fans makes you dislike someone, that doesn't say much for you. Can't we give it a break? The movie is doing wonders for Queen and so is Adam when he tours as QAL. He is a really nice man with a great vocal ability and it is just mind boggling some of the things that are said here about him.

Kind of my point. He's been singing with Brian and Roger for this long, I'd think he'd want to choose another artists/pick a different musical to sing a cover of. Hell, I'd be interested if he had some music of his own to sing or to promote on the show.
I'm sure AL is a nice guy, at least most of time. He's made gaffs in how he put some things across, like the fur issue, and I think he was thoughtless about that. He can really put his foot in it sometimes but who doesn't. I do notice what he says, and I'm right there with him with his recent tweets when he seemed to be pissed off, I don't blame him for that, and it's actually something I very much agree with him about.
I'm happy the biopic is doing well, in all honesty I wasn't expecting it to be as big as it is. It's pretty amazing right now. Queen is more popular now than they have been for years, although the music has never disappeared from the public eye.
No one is under any obligation to like AL, solo, singing with Brian and Roger or whatever he does. I will never understand why some of his fans think everyone must love and fawn over everything AL does. I'm not the kind of person to love everything about a celebrity...I don't even do that for Freddie.

None of that. I'm not a fan of his voice or performances at all.
I'm severely embarrassed with him singing Queen songs. I'll never see them live, because I'd be so embarrassed, and I wouldn't enjoy it. I'm serious... it's embarrassing. It's something for teenyboppers to go see, or old women, but not adult men... I'd be so embarrassed and disgusted watching that crap. I'd feel a similar sense of embarrassment if I went to go to a Britney Spears concert. Adam doesn't have a rock & roll voice... he has an embarrassing voice. It's really really like listening to karaoke, because I've heard Freddie, and Freddie has a loud, powerful, rock voice. I'm also very embarrassed by Adam's dance moves. He stands in place or walks slowly across the stage, he thrusts his pelvis in the most amateur way, the first thing you think of when you see it, "he can't dance." His voice is lightweight and that's great for bubblegum pop, but not loud, guitar driven hard rock.
If I brought one of my friends to a Queen and Lambert concert, I'd never hear the end of it. He's so terrible and embarrassing.

Wow, well if that's how you feel, that's how you feel, only thing I can tell you for sure is there are a ton of guys go to see them and some often comment on facebook, usually in response to negative comments, I'm talking one's who saw Freddie live as well, you'd actually be surprised at some of the people who go to these shows, hard rock/metal guys and they post about it on twitter and instagram, even I was surprised at that. As to his voice being lightweight it's not but it is very different to Freddie's in terms of voice type, Adam is a light tenor Freddie was a baritenor so Freddie's voice had more weight and had a chestier sound.
I get where you're coming from though, I have things that make me cringe and I know it's me being weird but it doesn't change the fact, I even have to turn things off on TV, even if I'm watching on my own because it's cringey or awkward so I'm not trying to change your mind at all.

I know Queen are popular over here but not everyone who's liked their music is still keeping up to date on what they're doing, some probably don't even realize they're still touring at all, I didn't initially, and while you may not care if people want to go to their show I'm sure Brian, Roger & Adam will.

There's a lot of hardcore Queen fans who want to see them, especially because of Brian and Roger, and I can understand that, but the sound is why I'd go to a concert. Audio more than visuals. But if the audio doesn't suit me, and then my focus goes to the visuals to try to get something, it'd be quite depressing for me.
Adam isn't a hard rock vocalist at all. He tries to sing the songs like they are all operatic (he's not an opera singer). He makes some notes last too long, he tries to show off his voice. It's not an enjoyable experience for me to listen to him singing Queen songs.

That's fair enough he's not for everyone and I agree he doesn't sing most of the songs in a hard rock style, tbh I think his rock voice is more hair metal so I can see why he changes them since that wouldn't really fit Queen's style. He does sing some of them in a fairly operatic style but then some of Queen's music is operetta and yeah his thing is holding long high notes but it always gets a good audience reaction which is probably why he does it and it is kind of what he got known for originally. But like you say, that's not your thing so yeah he's not the singer for you.

Well I can't speak for the whole UK but regardless that's what he's singing for whatever the reason, doesn't really matter IMO, he has no new music yet so may as well be Queen as anything else.

I don't know who sings the songs on Strictly, but let's hope it's better than the singers on DWTS. Pure, cheesy cover songs much of the time. And argh, I'm going to be n for two nights in a row of it LOL.
