Has anyone seen the footage of Queen on The Tube, on Channel 4, in 1983?
Apparently they aired an interview with Roger and Brian, and also a man who had travelled 8,000 miles to see them!?!
Would love to watch that!

Yep. I watched the "live" broadcast with Paula Yates. I put a cassette tape recorder near the tv to record the sound! Then my brother and his wife and 2 kids arrived and spoke all the way through it :O :) Those were the days ....
I remember Roger and Brian speaking a few words but I don't recall the 8000 miles dude.

Yea I remember that interview.
The guy had hair a bit like Brian's and said he'd travelled 8,000 miles following them and Milton Keynes was his 23rd Queen gig. He also said that he'd met Freddie in Leeds.
The interviews with Brian and Roger appear in a more edited form on the On Fire DVD. I remember Brian saying that South America was easier to play because in this country UK the temperature drops when the sun goes down nd cause tuning problems. There WA also an interview with Rick O'brian their stage manager at the time

I would like to watch it, but I can't find it online. Anyone got it?
Cheers!

Thanks but I don't think that's the footage that was shown on the Tube tv show. There were brief interviews with Brian & Rog.
However, it was 36 years ago and maybe I'm just not remembering it.

I recorded it from 'The Tube's' channel 4 broadcast of the concert in January 1983, it was never again repeated in it's entirety.
It also contains footage of Roger and Brian being interviewed, which I haven't included for copyright reasons.

Yeah, it was on the beginning of the Milton Keynes concert broadcast. The Queen fan was 'Martin josefson' if I remember rightly. A policeman was also interviewed, an American serviceman and 'Rick Obrien' the lighting engineer.Still got the original vhs up in the loft .
Bow Wow Wow we're playing in the background, which turned out to be a recording as kindly pointed out to me on here a couple o' year ago by one of our regulars who was there. (Bow Wow Wow apparently didn't show )
And all this, was definitely on YouTube when I checked 2 or 3 years ago.

Back when the Milton Keynes Bowl was actually used for music.
It's a sorry sight these days and has been for a while, mostly used for a big sunday carboot sale.

Thanks Kurgan for sharing :)
Too bad it was never again repeated in it's entirety.

Interview footage with Roger & Brian can be found on the bonus disc of the official DVD release.
I was at the gig, as usual the band delivered and thankfully we have a nice recording too.

It almost looks like a forgotten waste ground. I feel it's days are numbered.
Ramstein are playing Milton Keyens next summer, but have chosen Milton Keyens stadium, a 30,000 seater which opened in about 2008.

Rick O'brian was actually Queen's stage manager, yes he does talk about the spot pods, but also about the stage and crew and that their job is basically to creat the same environment, from country to country, for the band to perform in.
Unfortunately Rick died a few years ago, a well known person in the live music industry, not just for his work with Queen but also many other artists.
