Royalty, it was an actual interview with Brian May, where he said he was kicking around the idea of retiring.
Do you have a link to it, was it recent? I must have missed that one.
Not recent. That was some years ago. Lately he always stated, that he will play until he drops.

Roger said about it in his last interview, which was released this week:

Q“ What does Queen mean to you?

Roger Taylor: The band is now Brian May and myself, and we have become closer in a way. We realized this is our life and this is our destiny and I think we enjoy it. We have this wonderful singer, Adam Lambert, who is a joy to work with and it's a beautiful combination. He is much younger than we are but it works. He is very intelligent and has the most beautiful voice. We realize now that this is what we do and we enjoy doing it while we still can. I don’t know how much longer but right now we really enjoy playing and I look forward to our next tour, whenever it may be.“

Thanks, yeah I saw those earlier this week but I wasn't sure if Brian had done any others. I googled but couldn't see any others. Really hope they don't retire any time soon I really want to see them again.

It must have been an old interview I saw...I hate it when news headlines pop up on my screen, I assume they're recent.

I love it when no one replies to a post that refutes what the anti-QAL faction were saying and Heavens, we certainly don't want to hear Roger praising Adam! (he must be going senile, I guess, right??). If it doesn't work for their agenda, they ignore. But they spend a whole day on a silly broken mic. However, it was big of the fellow to admit he probably wasn't right. That was nice.

Some people need to learn how to be gracious winners.

I have no problem, whatsoever, admitting my mistakes, why must it be taken as a chance to say, " uh huh, just had to bad-mouth Adam," my comments were explained and, the matter was dropped, why keep beating a dead horse? Christ, just get on with your lives, don't you all have better things to do?

Yes, I admitted to jumping the gun, that what I was looking at, wasn't what I thought it was.

Some of you were understanding, while some wanted to continue arguing the matter.

Whatever....

If you think it was me criticizing you, I wasn't. I think it was great that someone said they were perhaps mistaken. I wasn't speaking negatively about you at all. Others on here just totally ignore whatever doesn't work for them. Not you!! If everyone could do that, it might be pleasant on here! I like to post but not when Runner calls me the filthy stuff that he does. That just takes the fun out of everything and why discuss, if it isn't enjoyable. I can have great discussions in IRL with others and lots of times they think differently than me, but it never becomes an argument. It is interesting to hear other opinions, but this place is tough.

Snifflese..... sorry if I came off like that, I do realize you weren't putting me down..... some people, though....

Hey, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong, I'm a big enough person to admit it!

No worries...

You are not wrong about Lameturd being a total jackass no talent wankhole.

But you are wrong about the movie

Thanks, I appreciate that!! Maybe things will start getting better around here! That would sure make me happy because I do like old Queen, new QAL and I do love Adam's voice. I was a fan before he ever came to Queen, so i do have a soft spot for him! Queen's music is the best music that he sings by far. I have been a Queen fan from the very beginning. I just don't think some of his own music is that suitable for a voice like that. I loved the Nessun Dorma snippet, but he doesn't seem to go for classical. It is really too bad, but I will listen to anything he sings. If that makes me a Glamtart, so be it. That name is much better than some of the others and I can live with that one!!

Runner.....I stand by what I say about Lambert... always will.

The movie? About what, was I wrong, did we discuss the movie?

Snifflese.....I don't share your 'affection' for AL.... that's ok!

As for Queen, I was listening to them waaay back....my daughter even, was a big fan.

I listen to Queen's greatest hits, while walking on the treadmill every morning, gets the ole blood pumping.

I remember them from the 1970's and I have loved them ever since. I think I bought all their albums and then their CD"s, but without the internet, I didn't know as much about them as guys and as a band. Then too I was newly married and busy with work and family. People here say I am not a fan, because I don't know all the trivia surrounding them, but I have always loved their music and that is all I needed to know. I find it absolutely amazing the many styles of music they incorporated into their music. As a lover of classical music, I love strong male voices and you have to be an awesome singer to manage a Queen song for sure. I love intricate music with guitar solos and crashing cords. I am a great metal lover, so Queen ticks that wicket also. I listen to them often and although everyone laughs, I do like their Greatest Hits as there are just so many of them! Brian has always been my favorite and the songs he has written were also my favorites even though years ago I didn't know which person wrote them. Iron Maiden and Queen are my two favorites, but Queen's music speaks to me the most! I wish there was more info here instead of arguing. I am going to see them in Aug in Boston and I can hardly wait. Can't believe those two old dudes can still bring it and yet, they do, esp Brian. I have no idea how he can do what he does for over two hours every night on tour. I greatly admire them!! I know you are not an Adam fan, but I would love one song that they worked on together just to see if they still have it and I bet they do!! I wish I had a quarter of their energy!

It was the 70's for me, too. Like you, I didn't know too much about the private/trivia side of the band, all I knew was, I loved them! Roger, I think, my favorite, because I really love the sound of drums and, he knocks it outta the ballpark! ...it's forums like this, that have helped a lot, with really getting to 'know' Queen.

I remember my son, probably 12/13 years old, blasting, " Another one Bites the Dust," on his stereo, it was his favorite song...my son is 39 now...lol... I went to the theater to see BR, with my daughter in law, another huge Queen fan, it's amazing, how their music transcends generations.

I'm just gonna say this to you For Freddie and snifflese...you both were very lucky to have been Queen fans back in the day. I'm jealous...but in a good way.
