Saw it for the first time a few hours ago. I very much doubt that I'll be willing to watch it a second time. Haven't read any reviews yet, but found the presentation of the gay world vs the holy straight world highly offensive. Mary's prediction that Freddie would face a very difficult life after he had told her that he was bisexual and his loneliness that followed her „words of wisdom“ were just pathetic. I could go on with further scenes, but you all know what I am talking about. Please, god, let there not be a sequel![/QUOTE]
Exactly.full of lies and totally homophobic. Queen thru Maylor's eyes. Sad. And they sell this as a tribute to Freddie while insulting him with this mess of a movie

Have you seen the version for mentally handicapped people? That's the version you should see ;)

I finally watched the movie for the first time the other night. After hearing so much about the errors I just couldn't bring myself to watch it with an open mind. I didn't mind the movie at all but as mentioned everywhere else, the time line just didn't work for me. And John, why did they make him seem so 'simple' with stupid looks on his face all the time? It could of been done so much better. But I thought Rami did a good job and Gwylim was fantastic as Brian.

So... I've finally seen it. The only positive thing I can say is that Malek's performance was really great, he fully deserves an Oscar. The music was really great too.
However ... the editing was HORRIBLE. There was too much shit going on. Plus, it was completely fictional while at the same time it was pretending to be a biopic. Maybe if I didn't know anything about Queen I would like it, but as somebody who has seen every Queen documentary ever made multiple times, and listened to every available recording multiple times, I just couldn't get over the stuff they changed for the sake of change. I would maybe prefer if they did a whole movie about one thing, for example about Queen at Live Aid. Anything would be better than cramming 15 years into 2 hours. Still better than the absolutely horrible TV movie we got a few years back

TV movie, not TV show. I honestly can't remember the name but the main message was that Freddie Mercury was a gay man who had a lot of sex and did a lot of drugs and then he died. It was pretty disrespectful and if I remember correctly even Brian hated it. I wish I could remember the title, maybe, I repeat MAYBE it was this : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6536184/ - I've seen it once and I don't plan to ever watch it again so I don't really know

What bothers me the most Is, that thé whole movie goes exactly the way Freddie predicted 30 years ago.
When you listen to his Interviews, he mentioned several times that people would think, He would be the first one to make a solo Album and that would cause the split up of the band and He was so happy aboiut thé fact that it wasnt true. Every other band made it like this bit nôt Queen. Queen was different..
There you go Freddie, you can thank your band mates because nowadays half of the world believes it was exactly like this. Makes me sick.
